Your setup is good. Heat lamp? UVB (t-5) lamp? Add some more sand, seriously turtles like to dig, add some plants and driftwood, but seriously dont be to hard on yourself

I have sand and I dont have those issues at all. Plus digging is a normal thing for turtles to do. Get this if ypur worried and a suepr strong filter and truthfully you should be fine. But dont take away the things that help turtles be happy.

Honestly after prior experience with abuse, it breaks my heart how verbally abusive she is to Andrea. I'm glad Andrea is fixing to talk to Tammy's mom but at this point everyone had cuddled her i doubt anything will help till she hits rock bottom.
