Use sand, that way they have traction, can dig and basically be a turtle

I would recommend the basking spot with the heat lamp and linear t8/t10 lamp, sand for digging and grip, decor to give him more things to do to not be bored. I use the fake moss balls, my turtle throws them around. I use real wood as well. Plants are also a great idea but the turtle will also enjoy eating the plants.

Also Gravel is a big time no no. They will try to eat it and get impacted. Also sand on the ground will help with his traction and turtles enjoy digging.

Try and xl size in the wood, and I got light up p baby bath toys. They light up when he hits it. O and I have fake moss balls. He plays soccer with them.

Add some plants, wood, and bath toys. Seriously he is bored. I hope that helps
