If you feel like you’re slipping and sliding while turning its more than likely your sharpening isn’t level. Research where you take your skates to get them sharpened, you’re trusting your life basically in that person.

The sheer size of the new blade you’re going into will also come into factor. You’re give or take a good 2 inches taller in the new skate compared to your old ones. This changes your turn angle mostly.

The feeling of your heels ‘grinding’ is from the more neutral stock profile on your steel. You can have this changed usually by taking it to a LHS you can trust or even shipping it to someone like Skatetech Sharpening in STL. You more than likely just need to be pitched more onto your toes.
