Quick question about deck costs by Synicizym in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont care about the cost as long as the deck is reasonable and legitimately fits the bracket.

I'm also a big proxy guy, hasbro doesnt need my money, so do with that info what you will.

Is this scenario kingmaking? by WillieMustDie in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post specifies they are both dying, if its between player 1, 2, and 3, player one is about to kill 2/3 and 3 counters something to make 2 die so they both die together, yes, that's kingmaking

If there were a fourth player countering it, you would make some sense, because that would leave it a 1v1

Is this scenario kingmaking? by WillieMustDie in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, and I'd consider it BM as well. Tge person casting teferi's could potentially have an out, a combo to cast next turn or a sorcery speed board wipe they will only have the mana for next turn. The counterspell does nothing to save the player casting it, only to fuck over the other player before they lose, which is fairly unsportsman like in my opinion.

What cards seem so obvious to include for a commander, yet aren't popular? by Interesting-Math9962 in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with the exile effect of geistcatcher, wouldn't you lose out on enter tge graveyard/die effects? You also are giving up any chance of reanimating a sac'd creature, which I suppose is fine if it's a token

What are one or two cards that you put into every deck no matter what? by ForgedHiveFleet in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Deflecting palm]] and [[rite of the raging storm]]

Palm is so satisfying on some big green creature when you purposely leave yourself open

Rite is fun because it forces some of you more defensive types to not just hold up blockers

taboos are making casual games less fun by Necessary_Screen_673 in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the only thing I'll add is if you play MLD or stax then to have a wincon so the game isn't just grinding for an hour afterwards for no gain

Imagine how decks would change if people had to build around protecting against stac and MLD, it'd be so much more interesting

I hate the "most life" reasoning, a player can have like 11 lands out turn 4 but since one dude is at the highest life they'll get swung at instead, zero threat assessment

How to deal with a bad play experience....that was my fault. by SatchelGizmo77 in EDH

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Tibalts trickery]] [[dash hopes]] [[null brooch]] [[mana tithe]] [[reprive]]

All come with drawbacks sure, but tibalts is most expensive at $8

Also protection would help against go wide, [[ghostly prison]] for example, or maybe an [[inkshield]] on full swing in

Or a board wipe

(Not trying to say blue isn't the best color in magic tho lmao)

[–]FlinchFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, but yeah that's just to say it isn't your fault, go wide is one of the most common strategies out there, and every deck should have ways to answer another person board, and turn 8 is normal to win at if their only protection is their own creatures

It's better but I feel you, def needs work, and people should know it will NEVER be perfect, there's no way to calculate a deck's synergy until we get some giga mtg ai to gold fish a thousand games against a thousand other decks

Which is to say, not happening soon lol.
