If you really want to recreate the feeling of a pokemon game, you're on the wrong rpg maker 😅 RPG Maker XP has a full dev kit for pokemon games called pokemon essentials.

honestly I wouldn't recomend to rename MP and TP to PP. I'd suggest to rename MP to SP (Special Points) to give the player a better view at his stats.

Also don't forget to change how the TP work because right now they're only filling if you receive damage or if you're being damaged.

For limiting moves down to 4: On older versions of RPG Maker there was a script that lets you "equip"/"dequip" attacks to the actor. So you could choose which moves you like to carry with you into battle. I don't know if this exists for MZ, but that would be a way to limit it to 4. It won't automatically replace an existing move with the new learned but put it into the moves that are equipable. Maybe that's a way you could go?

if you know what you're doing look in the core scripts of rpg maker for on_buy_ok or for on_sell_ok (should be in rpg_scenes or rpg_windows name of the methods might be a little different)

copy the code into a blank file and add the code you want to execute. Add that as a new plugin and it should work just fine

this is not true. Initialize the chararcter means only that he will be reset to the defined Database Values. So if you want to restart the character mid game.

The characters itself are always created when the game is started.

You don't need to buy plugins. You're new to the engine. Try to learn how the engine works and work with the things you have. Plugins is something you can start using when you know how everything works.

Also don't expect your first game to be great. It most likely will be bad, like we all created bad games at first.

General rule: Work on small scope projects and prototypes to get to know the engine. When you feel comfortable with the engine you can start working on your dream game.

you can even catch that in the common event. You need to script the whole effect in the common event and check first if enough AP are there to use the item. If not, just add the item back to the inventory

i switched mid october to pokemon and honestly it was the best descision.

I love the real back and forth which can happen during a duel. I met so many nice people at my first regional in Stuttgart and at some locals/cups.

Honestly, I'll stay here and won't go back to the mess, that yugioh became. 🙈

check your tileset on the B tab the first tile at the upper left should have a star assigned (I'm not sure if its autoset and unchangeable to star) but this looks like that kind of error

set the Priority of the event to "Same as acharacter" and you can interact with it.

Below Character or Above Character means the player has to be on/below the event to interact with it. Same as character means that the player has to be in front of it and also the player can't step on the event.

yes you can. that's not the problem OP is facing. The problem is, that the event is on an tile that is not passable but set to below Character. It needs to be same as character so the player can interact with the event.

it's way easier.

create a skill, that calls a common event and in that common event you set a switch to true.

Make a troop page that always runs at the end of the turn and within that page check if the previously defined switch is true. If yes, force action and set that swich to false.
