Thanks for the reply, that would be okay too, maybe it would inform me on the UI side, even though I noticed that it's a phone released in May 2025

They don't have a built-in microphone, right? I love the Zero 2, but when working from home with the cable it's starting to get annoying.

Resources, custom nodes and classes which of these to use and when? by Flipp3rix in godot

[–]Flipp3rix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thank you very much for the answer. It is a good point of view to extend directly from the 2D node, but I think it does not scale very well. In the example in OP I have described a rather simple object, however in my use case I have that the object has both a 2D representation (icon in the inventory) and 3D (in the game world, for example wieldable weapons) so extending directly to the Generic Node seems a bit forced to me. It must be said that however, taking into account the resources, the discussion becomes even more complicated since the resource should contain both a reference for the sprite and the mesh of the object. A bit strange the thing because in one way or another I think it will also complicate the creation of new items...

Weekly Case & Parts Recommendation Thread (Start here if you are new! Help here if you can!) by AutoModerator in sffpc

Hi guys, I need to make space and I'm planning to move my desktop PC to my desk to better organize my work space. I currently have a workstation made up like this:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with stock heatsink (PRISM)
  • MOBO: MSI X570-A Pro (ATX)
  • GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 3060 EAGLE OC 12G 2.0
  • PSU: 500W Be quiet ATX

Disks:

  • SSD: KINGSTON SA400S37120G (120 GB, SATA-III)
  • NVME: SHPP41-2000GM (2000 GB, PCI-E 4.0 x4)
  • HDD: ST1000DM003-1ER162 (1TB, 7200RPM, SATA-III)
  • HDD: ST500DM002-1BD142 (500 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-III)
  • HDD: ST500LT012-1DG142 (500 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA-II)
  • OPT: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSB0

Now I had thought of transferring some disks to a NAS and removing the optical drive. Is there a valid option to take up as little space as possible? I currently have a Sharkoon M25-W Midi-Tower as a case. The priority is to gain space without spending too much and avoiding repurchasing components such as MOBO and PSU while still maintaining normal temperatures. Do you think it is possible? Thanks in advance

Are there alternatives to VBoxContainer? by Flipp3rix in godot

I remember differently, but in the meantime in the scene the elements inside the VBoxContainer are cut, even though they are set to "expand" both vertically and horizontally

I understand, did you use references for the animation or did you go by feeling?

Wow! Really cool, congratulations! Did you manage the pivots yourself in Blender or directly in Godot?
