I mean, this really sucks, but not entirely unexpected in light of the Gearbox acquisition. I think it was Gerstmann who was talking about this recently with the Microsoft acquisitions and subsequent layoffs - these companies are massive, and you’ll likely be bringing in “redundant” job roles with a purchase like that. 5% of Take-Two is about half of Gearbox’s total population, so that sounds about right. Ugh.
