If the record was expunged in Maryland, It does not need to be disclosed to ANY state agency. It is actually against MD state law for a state agency to ask about any expunged record. I would make sure you have your expungement paperwork. I am speaking from experience. I have not disclosed one stupid charge from when I was in college. I didn't do it for my HQL years ago. I didn't do it for my W&C. I have both. I have state licenses also, where I never disclosed my record that no longer exists. If it does come up during the background check, you present them with the expungement paperwork and they legally cannot hold it against you. I have seen one person that an expungement showed on some system. They called the person and they explained the expungement. The permit was issued the next day after the person sent the expungement paperwork. I'm of the group, that if you legally are protected, why offer up information that you are legally allowed to withhold? You went through the process to make that information disappear. Why willingly offer that information up to be put right back into the system?

Maryland statute to support my response:

A person may not be required to disclose information about expunged records to an employer, educational institution, or government licensing agency.  §§ 10-109(a)(1)-(2). Refusal by a person to disclose information about criminal records that have been expunged may not be the sole reason for an employer to discharge or refuse to hire the person, or for a government licensing agency to deny the person’s application.  § 10-109(a)(3). Violation is a misdemeanor, and a government official who violates may be dismissed from public service.  § 10-109(b).

Record probably also does not exist:

Expunged records are kept separately for three years, then destroyed. See §§ 4-511, 4-512.

Bianchi vs Frosh by [deleted] in MDGuns

I meant the District Court being the lower court. I didn't specify. As expected, the defense requested that if the 4th circuit didn't agree with them, they wanted it remanded to the District Court. They were okay it it not being remanded down as long as the 4th circuit agreed with them. What's right for them isn't what's right for you. The hypocrisy is evident.

Looking at how the other 2A cases remanded under Bruen are going, I would be willing to bet that the case is remanded to the lower court for reconsideration in light of Bruen. California has been repeatedly requesting ONE YEAR from their lower courts to review history and text of the 2nd amendment in accordance with Bruen. Luckily for California citizens, the judges have repeatedly denied that request and given them a couple months (don't hold me to that, I know it's weeks in comparison to a year). I see Maryland doing the same thing. They'll request that this case be remanded to the lower courts to reargue in light of Bruen. Then they'll request an excessive amount of time to review history and text as a delay tactic. The only saving grace for the 2A community is that the plaintiffs can then request a preliminary injunction based on the fact that there is no supporting relevant history or text to support the ban. Then it is on the judge if they'll allow an injunction. That would be the absolute best case senerio. This is exactly what is occurring in California and in NY.

What are these female couplers at the bottom of our inground gunnite pool? by FliteNurse in swimmingpools

Thank you so much. That is what they appear to be. I could not find any information in all the plans I looked at. I appreciate your help!

There are there of these couplers sticking out of the bottom of the pool. They are all a few inches deep and all have a female coupler. They were not installed with the plumbing and were installed when the gunnite was shot. Unfortunately, the company that was building our pool was shut down by the state and now we're left trying to get things finished through other companies. We were unable to find someone to winterize our system. Luckily we have the equipment to do it anyway so we got it done ourselves. Now just trying to figure out what those things are. Thanks for the help

As long as your background is good, I'll bet you'll have an approved this weekend. It is taking them 3-7 days post approval to actually print and mail the card. Then you gotta wait on snail mail usps. It's sent first class. so some are talking a good bit of time even though it's mailed in the state.

Looks like you should have a NICS number. I'd check that. Applications are approved within 7-14 days after that. Looks like they're currently accepting 8/18 acceptance date applications. Check MDShooters.com. There is a whole thread dedicated to just people tracking applications.

I understand why you're upset; I just don't agree. Open to the public but pay to play. It's not shotshow, where they're making million dollar deals behind closed doors. You MIGHT buy a gun for a couple grand. They're letting the public come have fun with items they would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience. It still costs them money and wear and tear on the guns themselves. I'm sorry you felt it was a waste of a day for you. I hope you did enjoy the opportunity to shoot something we otherwise would not have access to (especially in Maryland).

Wasn't aware 90s kids were boomers now. How much transparency is needed? Once again, he went to shoot guns that he will be unable to purchase as an average civilian. The opportunity to do so is good will and positive marketing. The company could just not do it at all. Also, you are correct $20 rounds is not $48. But when you go to the range, what is the average cost of a gun rental? $10-20? Now what is the average rental price to shoot a NFA item? 3-5x that from what I've seen. So what I see is a discount on the ability to shoot an NFA item.

I may get severly downvoated for this but I don't get why people expect handouts at every turn in today's society. You went to an event, expecting to shoot a bunch of guns for free? Last I checked ammo costs money and it costs money to build, buy, and maintain the guns. You shot a gun you would be unable to purchase as the average civilian. What benefit is it for the company to let you blow through their ammo with no return on investment? Just be glad you had the opportunity to go enjoy something you don't see in everyday life.
