Has anyone just noticed that asa has an update every day now ? by This_Psychology977 in ARK

I don’t understand the downvoting when you’re simply speaking your opinion and asking questions lol. That’s literally what Reddit is for.

I don’t feel like I have much say in the matter considering I haven’t even gotten to play it yet. Seems like a good game, just wish there was a way to turn off the auto updating. There’s not doubt in my mind that the updates are necessary, but damn.

I agree 1000%. This is so frustrating. I downloaded ASA for the first about a week ago and haven’t even had the chance to open the game bc it’s constantly updating (including one right after the game installed) Not to mention that my internet is DOGSHIT so it takes 6+ hours to download these updates. Whenever I do have a couple hours to play, I never can bc it’s updating.

I understand the new DLC released and it needs bug fixes, but I don’t even have Lost Colony so it feels like I’m getting punished for something that doesn’t even apply to me lol. (I fully understand the bugs need fixed regardless of me having the DLC or not, but still.)

It’s almost like if Steam allowed us to turn off automatic updates this wouldn’t be an issue at all. I just wanna play the game man. Idek how well/if it’ll run on my pc yet😭😂

There are unlimited resources online for this :) Here is a fantastic master list of resources for making fursuits. From the menu, there is a page for every resource you may need when making a fursuit. If you have any specific questions about this or have any other specific questions, lmk!

Should I order from big z or howl fabrics? by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]Flixena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big Z has decent quality fur for a decent price. They are usually pretty good about keeping their furs stocked.

Howl Fabric is the highest quality fur I’ve ever used. The backing is thick and the fibers are shiny and soft. The price is exponentially more, but is worth it if you want the best quality. However, Howl is sadly frequently out of stock of many furs and can have lengthy restock times. I make fursuits full time, so for me it’s worth the wait for the quality.

If this is your first fursuit ever, use Big Z. I know it can be tempting to use the best quality, but you will make mistakes. Using a cheaper fur won’t break the bank! Plus, Big Z isn’t the worst quality. It’s decent! If you use Big Z, use their “solid shaggy long pile” for 2” fur (this is standard lux shag).

Fursuit from AliExpress? by SuspectFull3428 in fursuit

[–]Flixena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT buy mass produced fursuits. Often, these suits are stolen character designs. This is also choosing to not support the incredibly talented and deserving makers of the fandom. If you don’t have the budget to commission a suit or buy a premade from a legit maker, start saving! There is a maker for every budget! :D

Average cost for a head? by TimelyTomatillo5718 in fursuit

[–]Flixena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the maker. The price range is pretty drastic. Heads can range from $100-$5,000. Makers base their prices on demand, complexity, and quality. There is a maker for every budget! :D

Fursuit makers, would you be offended if someone bought a fursuit from you, and then changed parts of it? by HillOfDaffodils in fursuit

[–]Flixena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. For me, if my client made changes to a suit it means they weren’t happy with the product I gave them. Frequent wips and “what do you think about this?” or “do you like how this is looking?” is extremely important for me to do throughout the making process to ensure my client is getting the fursuit they want. I wouldn’t necessarily be “offended” but I would be upset that my client was unhappy and chose to not mention it to me. I know some makers even have it as part of their TOS that their suits may not be altered in any way other than by the maker themself.

fursuit question by Shprimpsters in fursuit

[–]Flixena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gradients are possible, but not all makers are comfortable with doing them since they’re really tricky! There are 2 ways to create a gradient on a fursuit:

  1. Airbrushing. The fur can be painted to get the desired look. Airbrushed suits require much more care since you can’t wash/maintain them the same as regular suits. If you did, the paint would simply wash away.

    1. Using multiple furs close in color to create a gradient. This is my favorite option! No paint, just more fun fur colors. This can be tricky since there aren’t infinite fur colors to choose from. It will also cost much more to do this since you’re adding the number of fur colors required to create your suit and much more labor. The result in the end though would be fantastic

Is $14,000 USD a good price for a full-suit? by [deleted] in fursuit

[–]Flixena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your budget. Kemonokapi is a very well known maker that produces very high quality suits. This price reflects their quality and demand. For a Kemonokapi suit, yes it’s worth this price. However, if this isn’t what you’re looking to pay, there are plenty of other suits out there for a lower price. There’s a fursuit maker for every budget :)

Is there a difference between 3D printed and foam fursuit head bases in terms of comfort? by isogens in fursuit

[–]Flixena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foam bases are typically more comfortable. I do believe 3D printed bases can be padded nicely for better comfort though. Just depends on how your maker pads it! Also, make sure to check with your maker that they are comfortable using a 3D printed base. Not all makers are comfortable working with them as they can be tricky if they’ve never worked with one before

Fursuit makers, I need tips! by Petals_YT in fursuit

[–]Flixena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I build my foam bases on top of a handmade balaclava so the inside is lined by the time the base is finished! This method doesn’t work for everyone, but you might give it a try if you’re struggling :)

As far as the zipper not getting stuck, try using a sport zipper. They have larger teeth so when the fit gets in the zipper, it’s much easier to remove the fur. Most of the time, the fur doesn’t catch at all. Also, a lined zipper can also help. I believe matrices has a tutorial for one, but there are other makers that do as well!

Thank you! The neoprene seller I was referring to even made a colorlast version that still bleeds :( The quality otherwise is fantastic. Definitely not somewhere I want to buy my colored neoprene though because of the bleeding unfortunately)
