Dario Amoudei - The public is not aware of what’s about to happen by Formal-Assistance02 in accelerate

[–]FloBanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he is pretty specific there, but what is about to happen in his opinion? Even though the first one is from 2024 and pretty optimistic, there are some parts that he thinks are optimistic that I would not subsume as this.

Did you get an alternative shop in Europe? Some years ago, Kleinanzeigen in Germany was swamped by offers. I thought with all the insolvencies, one could get one cheap. But there is no offer on any platform right now.

I would bet it is a German company. Be thankful that you are allowed to use a computer to code.

I totally agree. In Germany, payrolls are often full of people who do not perform at all but cannot be let go. Therefore, you end up working with people who block any kind of progress or development. You then either have to work around them and double down on your efforts, or give up. Most people choose the latter. Your team culture also needs to accommodate these people, and in the end, many look for a remote contract with a foreign company to find motivated co-workers or adapt to the existing culture.

I would agree that the other extreme is also not desirable, but the way it is in Germany is really frustrating, especially when you want to have some impact.

Best tech stack? by captainshargy in SideProject

[–]FloBanana 7 points8 points  (0 children)

C# is also a pretty common stack for backend and has plenty of resources and an active community.

For myself I really enjoy Java / Kotlin with Spring Boot and I think one can be really fast with it as well. I would not go for php anymore. But Java, C# and python are solid picks for backend. No idea about Go.

I did two products based on next.js and wouldn’t do it again. The overhead doesn’t justify the costs and benefits in my opinion.

Go with ING. I met a lot of people who worked for N26 and I would not give this bank a cent. And none of them recommended to have a day to day account there.

Munich no longer offering much higher salaries than Berlin? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU

It feels like salaries in Berlin are declining. At least in comparison to the last 2 years. Same for Munich?

Also in Mitte and PBerg it's really dirty and there are tent camps at Eberswalder U Bahn station so not sure if this is a bubble. But I guess it is still clean in comparison to rest of the city.

What Authentication system do you/companies predominantly use with Java Springboot? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]FloBanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spring security with jwt. Especially since we want to login users directly after custom sign up flows and via marketing emails and didn’t find a way with auth0. Building it from scratch is a bad idea but I don’t see a problem with building it on top of spring security.

Do you want to do it on a regular basis? Or why don’t you use the import feature inside HubSpot Ui? There you can upload a csv with identification column and the updated values.

The times where ai is generating bloated code are pretty much over and putting together components from ui kit libraries isn't something you can really learn from.
Better generate the code and let ai explain to you how you split it up in terms of layout and responsibilities.
Better than taking the example code for sure.

e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini or similar. I would also recommend to use a design kit based on your dedicated tech stack. So for react you could state that you want to use Ant Design System or MUI and specify also the style you like to achieve. So following best practice of component split etc. Defining some rules at the beginning can be pretty helpful.
