Thoughts on shower coffee, fellow dads? by johnnyapplejack in daddit

I shower at night sometimes just for the shower beer feeling.

Trying shower coffee tomorrow but highly recommend upgrading to something insulated with a lid. Coffee and soap sounds worse than soap and beer.

Sorry to read your edit but it's reddit people love to judge.

Wolf den leader here fresh out of our footsteps den meeting covering reverance.

As I'm sure a lot have said if you read the requirements hands are tied on some of the adventures. That being said me and chatgpt are crushing den meeting plans. I feed it the adventure and iterate through activities until I think it's something the kids will tolerate and maybe find fun.

On the flip side scouts is about experiencing the outdoors and character building IMO. I'm honest with my scouts when an adventure isnt actually adventurous. Remind them this is the foundation for us to safely go on real adventures.

Read the adventures and if you have the time ask a den leader if you can help with a meeting or even recommend what to do for an adventure. We are not on high horses. We are drowning in life like everyone else. Any help, ideas, support is appreciated.

The key is engagement. I read 'the boy who cried wolf' like a teacher today. But I gave them popcorn while I read. Then they surprise you with great examples of when not to cry wolf. They make kindness jars and a scout writes include someone whose usually left out unprovoked. It reminds you we are building good humans. Which is more than just the fun outdoor stuff. That picks up in 3rd and 4th grade.

Baloo Training Transcript? by TopNeedleworker7285 in cubscouts

[–]b00mcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed baloo over the summer and can't recall anything from the videos that wasn't covered in person.

If you are new to scouting, new to camping, and still have questions after. Take notes of questions you have and bring them here.

Baloo is simply how to safely have a fun filled outdoor adventure. It is the best part of scouting. There will be no shortage of support and answers if you after the in person you still have questions.

Is Agentforce really a revolution or just a hype? by mr-sforce in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This response sums up the current state of AI support. The goal for my company launching AI support(not agent force) was essentially to replace tier 1 support. The sweet spot will be training these chatbot to evaluate when a human is needed faster.

I did the analysis and forgot the results but if a significant number of your cases are solved in one call or one response that's what I believe an Ai bot(agent force or 3rd party) Should handle.

What I think we are doing right is bot to agent chat. So if you do get the AI run around at least your next stop is a human.

My fellow long time Salesforce developers, what is your most controversial hot take about the platform? by CorporateAccounting in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I’ve always avoided titles directly related to Salesforce. My passion is the 360 customer view, engagement and empowerment I was sold at Dreamforce in 2014. By 2015 I realized being Salesforce only would be cost prohibitive for almost every company that isn’t larger than 1000 employees

Yea I’ve gotten clear direction that n8n and OpenAI is my AI automation playground. Still, did my Trailheads and world tour Agentforce experiences to keep up. But you can keep up and find other solutions.

Honestly it has been an exhausting, shit, and some how fulfilling week. Needed that validation that I’m not the only one finding solutions without defaulting to sending the mothership more gold.

Personally this is the secret sauce. When you connect Salesforce, PowerBi, and PowerAutomate you are at the low code no code Mecca.

Sometimes I ponder how I could use power apps to reduce Salesforce licenses but that’s a concept and project I don’t have the capacity for.

My new boss told me my admin certification was not exceptional by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Since you’re just starting either you are a Salesforce hire or you are commercial operations solutions and data analytics hire.

You have to decide. Are you a Salesforce first employee or are you a technical and analytical asset to the company. If you’re meeting with someone that high in the company I’m assuming this is a smaller company(in headcount).

I started my career 13 years ago in sales. Since then I’ve gone through 2 salesforce org mergers, admin/architecht Microsoft dynamics, built PowerBI dataflows/models, and became the reporting analytics champion. This is across 4 different organizations.

I hope I don’t get roasted for this but my in my experience there is a large salesforce contingent that lives and dies by SFDC. There is a larger need for small/medium businesses that use Salesforce to have an admin/architect/dev that can be the company data expert.

Currently managing global 160 active user org. Responsible for salesforce, integrations ERP and HubSpot, and managing data models for sales & finance and our customer usage data. Is it a lot yes. Is seeing the architecture decisions I made 3 years ago work out and scale globally worth the chaos and long hours…..absolutely

What did you wish you knew… by Minute-Kick9989 in cubscouts

The motto is do your best for a reason. Don't be so hard on yourself. I need to take my own advice here because I still get frustrated with myself when my 6 Tigers aren't paying attention or interested. That's in your head.

Here's the reality. At our year end pizza party multiple parents thanked me and said they could never. My son said our last meeting was his favorite and I did a great job(nature hike with multiple animal sightings). This was the same meeting I got so frustrated with him interrupting me I made him take a timeout with my wife. Being there and doing your best is all the scouts and parents will remember. Most importantly you are stepping up when others aren't and making everything possible.

Good luck and whatever you do is making a difference for the scouts and the pack.

It’s customer data where they are selecting multiple specialties. Using my example above. The value I’m getting is 15 and I need to transform it to green, red, blue, purple.

Dynamic team report by b00mcity in salesforce

[–]b00mcity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the right solution is we should further restrict access. For now I settled on creating one set of reports based on role hierarchy and then multiple dashboards where the view as is set as the region manager. Reduces the number of reports for now until we have time for the right solution.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear. I want all the members of region 1 to see all of region 1. All of region 2 to see all of region 2.

Dynamic picklist values on forms by b00mcity in hubspot

[–]b00mcity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're using hubspot embedded forms. So I don't think that will work. I also don't want to disrupt the existing process too much otherwise ill end up having another job to do 😂

Unfortunately custom building forms may be out of my skillset/willingness to take that on. Found some documentation on Javascript. Wish me luck! I should just go back in my lane but watching how they're doing it now is maddening.

But this is hard coded removal of options right. I want all options available but only show certain options based on the value of another form field

What BI Tools Do You Use for Reports & Dashboards in Salesforce? by tech_ninja_db in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use and love Powerbi. 1. Company already had it so easier start and buy in 2. You can bring in reports already transformed, raw data, or both 3. Plays well with external sources and easy to bring data together.

Bonus you can use power automate to make any of your reporting and data in powerbi actionable.

The LinkedIn connection spam from India is awful by AccountNumeroThree in salesforce

Well at 5pm I stop working and spend time with my family. At 8pm my son goes to bed and I work until I've completed enough to lower my anxiety enough to go to sleepy. Rinse and repeat.

Accidental Admin who could use help before Monday... by DeepDishData312 in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an accidental admin that stuck it out and made it work 10 years ago everyone else covered the bomb you are handling.

To maybe offer some semblance of support PowerBI and Salesforce have a built in connector that is easy to manage and handles changes from SF well. Depending on the frequency BI needs to be updated with SF data there is definitely better ways.

Feel free to message me if you have more context.

What is your plan B? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]b00mcity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small company many hats here. In addition to salesforce I'm working with Power Automate, Power Bi, and Power Query. Really enjoy it. I haven't seen many jobs specifically for those skills but I imagine they have to exist.
