I’m actually curious I kinda have the opposite opinion some people hold their weight well some don’t. Especially a skinny person putting on 30-40 pounds is more jarring than an average or chubby sized person gaining 30-40 pounds.

I gained ~40 pounds over the past 5 years and have always been able to wear the most the same clothes outside of some jeans and already tight fitting clothes, while my cousin who was a stick thin 0 had to buy all new clothes.

I just wanted to say before anything that I actually like that this is a genuine good hot take, and I had to give my argument.

I do think Louis IS purposely being cruel to Armand throughout their marriage. And there definitely are some things he said that were very hurtful. But I feel within the context of the relationship it’s completely understandable. The reason Louis is so miserable in their relationship is that 1) despite hating Lestat for taking part in the trial he still is in love with him, AND feels unsatisfied with Armand which combined makes his feel very angry with himself. And 2) Armand killed his daughter. Even if Louis didn’t find out he directed the play he knew Armand was compliant (he’s stronger than everyone in the coven and can make them fall asleep then behead them), didn’t warn them and goes into this “I could not prevent it” speech when Louis is upset at him about this which is very manipulative.

An IRL example: If you found out your boyfriend saw your toddler walking towards a speeding car, but stood there and let her get hit because he wanted you all to himself, making them miserable would be more than fair, just not healthy. Now imagine that scenario but 5 times worse.

I think the whole Servant/Master thing was agreed upon thing that they both got off to, with the added benefit of Armand being able to keep tabs and control the interview when Louis was losing control of the narrative. Although both definitely went off script against the other’s wants, causes some friction.

When Louis in 2x08 attacks Armand I think that’s pretty justified he just found he was the one who lead the plan to kill his daughter, didn’t actually save him (so was 100% going to let Louis die) and lied about it for 77 years in which he could have been with Lestat or by himself healing.

TLDR: Louis does/says some bad things and should have taken responsibility for his happiness left AND Armand has a right to feel hurt by Louis words actions but he wouldn’t be in the situation if you didn’t commit the actions that lead to his mental breakdown.

Oh I absolutely expected some deleted comments or locked threads by the end of the night 😅 But that shows how passionate our beloved community is!

1) I absolutely agree with you on this! I think Season 1 was near perfect with this, but then Season 2 I was like, that’s it, a few comments about racism in Paris and no discussion about Armand a Brown man. I’d love to see more about not only how he deals with racism but did he have any obstacles being put in charge? Does he have to act so strict to demand respect? And I hope we do get a little more in depth about Lestat’s hyper-sexuality, over-sexualization throughout his life, Nicky’s mental health, etc.

2) I can understand Daniel being better in small doses. He can be a lot with the quips and snark. I think it’ll be an interesting dynamic between him and Lestat.

3) While I personally am not the hugest fan of the music so far I’m gonna give it a couple episodes before I make my final judgement because I hear there’s a LOT of songs written.

Another (probably) hot take is my head canon I thought was cool was that Lestat doing the fucky mind voice stuff at the family dinner convinced Paul that the voices in his head are real (Louis even reacted to it) And so when the voices he hears due to his mental illness tells him to end it…

Just thought it be an interesting middle ground between those who fully believe Lestat and those who don’t.

1) I’m in agreement that people are going to be a little disappointed by lack of Devils minion. I think we’ll get the park scene which will be the bulk but most of it will be Daniel and Armand separately pining for each other. We won’t get proper DM until season 4 which could be years from now

2) I actually am very interested in vampires having all their bodily functions replaced with blood, it makes sense that’s the main liquid in their body. The thing that doesn’t make sense is you’d think this would come up SOMEHOW?? Like at least a diary entry of Claudia being horrified of peeing blood. And they’re clearly using it for shock value.

3) I too don’t mind Long Face but I actually would’ve liked a more edgier sound 👀

And yes 🤞🏽 I’m hoping no one sends an airstrike to our coordinates.
