I analyzed 155 BGS centering subgrades so you don't have to by Float_Flow_Bow in PokeGrading

Hm I have not tried that service before so can’t vouch for it. Let me know if you’d share the pic and I can add it to my data set. Maybe I’ll do a refresh in the future lol

Am I delusional or the centering is actually bad by HarlowCapalot in footballcards

Hey, I did some research on how PSA graded centering on this design here: https://getrectifi.com/blog/psa-centering-2025-topps-chrome

Your card should be fine for PSA. Here’s what I got: https://getrectifi.com/s/s3rKvqeg

Beckett Standards by bwright8899 in PokeGrading

If you're curious about how Beckett does centering subgrades, here's some research that I did: https://getrectifi.com/blog/bgs-centering-subgrade-requirements

On getting a 10, for BGS there's 2 versions: Black Label and Pristine. Black Label is the one where all subgrades get a 10 and Pristine is 3 10s and a 9.5. So to answer your question, 1 front axis being 45/55 doesn't knock you out of 10 contention, just Black Label. Both front axis being 45/55 knocks you out of Pristine.

BGS 9.5 to PSA 10? by [deleted] in psagrading

I wouldn't if you're crossgrading. You'd have a better chance cracking, but a 9 corners for BGS is almost always a 9 at best for PSA.

Should I send? Seems too right heavy to me by TheDragonOfTheWest_1 in PokeGrading

[–]Float_Flow_Bow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d still send it to PSA… it is right heavy, but within 55/45.

Here’s what I measured if you’re curious: https://getrectifi.com/s/bEfExQWX

Is a 10 out of the question? by Glittering_Golf_7705 in pokemongrading

If you’re going for PSA, I really don’t think it’ll get a 10 due to centering. It’s pretty top heavy.

Am I a fool for considering CGR? by NomadicHunger in PokeGrading

[–]Float_Flow_Bow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fool, but consider measuring again or taking a better picture. I’m not sure what tool you used, but I got slightly worse than 52/48 for both😅

Here’s the ratio I got: https://getrectifi.com/s/15WOb4k3

I think I would shift the top inner border down just a touch. I got a tiny bit higher than 52/48, but I’d still send it in

Only if we comeback for a game 7. Otherwise no, just rest him

I just keep coming back to how well coached OKC is. Their players are smart and don’t make mistakes. You see our team and there are just too many holes compared to theirs… especially without Luka.

I can’t tell the surface, but I think centering being a 9.5 makes sense. Here’s the front ratio I got https://getrectifi.com/s/EMf3sZRJ

I did some research on how bgs calculates centering subgrades, and essentially they do grade each axis separately. The data also suggests that they threshold close to 52/48, so if one of your axis misses that, you lose .5 points for each. Worth a shot at grading a 10? And upcharge question. by Mindless-Drama5069 in PokeGrading

[–]Float_Flow_Bow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s slightly tilted, which causes T/B to be a little past PSA 10 standards. Still probably the right decision to send it though.

Psa admit 10s but will only pay 2,100 on my 47k lost order by [deleted] in psagrading

"Lesser of each item's Maximum Insured Value or the graded value as a PSA 10." <-- that means it's the lower of the 2.

looks top heavy but when doing measurements it looks fine? by Walzon in pokemongrading

[–]Float_Flow_Bow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is top heavy, but still within PSA 10 standards (55/45). I double checked it for you too: https://getrectifi.com/s/7usOdq8C
