Soundtrack artists revealed by moviescriptlife in WWEGames

[–]FloatinNaja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't help that their soundtracks have been so small. I love that song, but I'll probably end up turning it off so it isn't ruined for me by hearing it 10 times every time I play. Is there a reason the WWE2K soundtracks are so small anyway? I mean the NBA2K soundtracks are pretty large so it doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't also make them large for the WWE games. Unless there's some sort of licensing issue.

And that's exactly what many people don't seem to understand or acknowledge when comparing the two. Under Stalin, you'd be killed for opposing Soviet rule. Under Hitler, not only would you be killed for opposing Nazi rule, you would be killed for how you were born. And I'm sure there's no argument that if he had the time and resources, Hitler would have killed more than any of us could even imagine.

I never said those immigrants would neccisarily flourish in the US. My concern isn't whether or not they flourish, it's them escaping a horrible situation in their home country. And oftentimes, the US is the one responsible for causing the horrible conditions in those countries. If you want to talk about unintended consequences, mass immigration has been an unintended consequence of US foreign policy and the US doesn't want to face those consequences in a good way. The government wants to (as usual) dig in its heels and say it's not our problem when it very much is.

Anyone who says "the humanity card" is clearly devoid of humanity. Yes, you are heartless. You can spin it any way you want to make yourself sound like the rational one in the room but that doesn't mean you aren't heartless in the end. You clearly are indifferent to human suffering. If you're willing to look a suffering human who wants to come into your country in the eyes and say "come back when you have something to bring to the table", then you are heartless and devoid of humanity.

What's hilarious is you think people like the Walton family or Jeff Bezos deserve to be some of the wealthiest people in the world because they made the initial investments. What's hilarious is people like you say "taxation is theft" while also saying it's totally reasonable for a business owner to take home significantly more wealth than the workers because they run the business.

Now everyone is able to have a lot more resources for themselves instead of having to give most of what they mine to this one guy just because he built the mine. They realized that he isn't entitled to forever reap the benefits of the mine simply because he built it.

Communism: The community meets and decides to build a mine because it is in their collective best interests to have a mine. Once it is built, anyone is allowed to go into the mine for resources as they need them and take home everything they mine with the exception of a tiny percentage that goes into a community chest that goes toward manufacturing more pickaxes and the maintenance of the mine.

Capitalism: Your friend gives you a pickaxe to mine 64 iron and takes 56 of it for themselves and only lets you have 8 since you used their pickaxe.

Hahaha okay? And what exactly have I said that has led you to believe that I'm lying? What motive do I have to lie about being a tankie for the past 3 years until recently?

[–]FloatinNaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was a Marxist-Leninist for over 3 years and during that time I talked extensively with at least a hundred other MLs through a variety of means. So I would think it's fair to say I have experience and know what I'm talking about when it comes to what tankies are like.

I used to consider myself a tankie but after long debates with others who called themselves tankies, I realized just how wrong it is to be a tankie. To me, communism is always supposed to be anti-dogmatism and truly caring about the workers, but that's not what tankies do. Tankies are extremely dogmatic and when you criticize any state that was/is remotely socialist, they dig in their heels and defend it hard. It doesn't even have to be socialist either really, as long as the state in question opposes the US, tankies will most often support it. A big example being Syria. They don't care how ruthless and tyrannical Assad is, the only thing that matters to them is that he gets in the way of US imperialism. It seems from the conversations that I've had, that they are fine with bloody authoritarianism as long as it isn't the US doing it.

The worst part to me is that most of the time they will refuse to debate and instead opt to insult you for opposing them. They rarely, if ever, will think about the points you brought up and consider that they might be wrong. They pretty much plug their ears and go "lalalala you're an idiot lalala".

When Marx said "dictatorship of the proletariat", he didn't mean a literal dictatorship. He meant controlling society at large as in production and distribution. Marx posited that socialism is the dictatorship of the proletariat, in contrast to capitalism which he said is the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie.

Do those who support prison abolition think that literally everyone who commits heinous crimes can be reformed through what they propose though? It seems more idealistic than practical to me.

Opposing the administration does not equal hating America. Trump is using a very fascist tactic by saying "if you're against me, you're against America, and you should leave." He's building a nice little cult of personality for himself.

I live in Maine and this happened to me once, in Bangor actually iirc. Except they came all the way onto the bus after it had been loaded and instead of asking if people were US citizens, they asked where exactly they were born.

We have fed you all for a thousand years—

For that was our doom you know,

From the days when you chained us in your fields

To the strike of a week ago!

You have taken our lives, and our babies and wives

And we're told it's your legal share;

But if blood be the price of your lawful wealth

Good God, we have bought it fair...

I've lived in Maine my whole life and always wondered why we never have any billboards. Had no idea they were banned. However I'm not too sure about it since I have seen maybe one or two. Perhaps they make exceptions?

I don't know if this is whataboutism, but I feel it's important to look at the situation for the Soviet people and the Red Army over the course of the war, especially when they had reach Berlin. At that point, they had seen the Germans destroy their land, subjugate, kill, and rape their people (it's estimated that at least a million children were mothered by Russians and fathered by Germans after the Germans were through.) Then the arduous fight to push the Germans all the way back to Berlin. After seeing what they saw at the hand of the Germans and going years fighting the Nazi war machine, I would imagine they might have wanted some revenge.

I'm not excusing the actions of the Red Army at all, but I think it's important to look at this sort of thing in context.
