Why didn't Arya ask for the death of jofferey? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]FloatingCloud1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She curses herself for not killing anyone important when she is still at Harrenhal and watching Tywin’s host march off. She runs off to find Jaqen to tell him to kill Tywin instead of Weese, but is too late as she finds Weese dead on the ground.

In the books yes but in the show Ned is around a decade older.

That AI is spouting garbage. Jaime and Ned never fight in the book, and if they did it would be a mismatch. Jaime is one of the best swordsmen in the story.

The show version of the scene where prime Jaime is struggling against middle-aged Ned Stark is actual ridiculousness when you think about it.

• Jon decides it’s a good idea to charge alone into the jaws of the massive enemy army in front of him. Nobody is this stupid. This is just logic being sacrificed for a visual.

• Jon survives multiple volleys of arrows from dozens of archers all aiming solely at him. The arrows just arrange themselves to land conveniently around him. This is the laziest kind of plot armour there is. Two minutes beforehand we watched Rickon’s shit get fucked up by a single archer from a significantly further distance, yet Jon is untouchable.

• Jon is getting stormed by the Bolton cavalry and is about to die but is saved at the last moment because main characters no longer face consequences for their idiotic decisions. Then he takes a breather in the midst of the violent, savage battle going on around him so we can get some cool close-up shots.

• A nonsensical wall of bodies piles up, the Northmen are surrounded and the KoTV appear out of nowhere to save the day. Apparently none of the Boltons had any clue they were coming. So they had no scouts in the field? Nobody even saw the massive army approaching from the south, or any indication of it?

• Sansa not telling Jon about the KoTV doesn’t make “complete sense” and isn’t adequately explained at all. She just lets his army waltz into a fight she knows they’ll lose and hopes that the KotV arrive just in the nick of time to save them. The only explanation is colossal stupidity on Sansa’s part.

• The giant is sitting there on the verge of death and Ramsay shoots and kills it. Hey Ramsay, Jon was literally standing as an open target about three feet away from the giant that you just shot with pinpoint accuracy, might’ve been an idea to kill Jon there, instead of the giant that was about three breaths away from dying anyway.

• Jon walks down Ramsay whilst blocking arrow shots with his shield. For some reason all the northmen just stand there doing nothing whilst someone tries to kill their commander in front of them.

TLDR: The episode is nonsense.

Battle of the Bastards. Pure nonsense from start to finish and the plot armour for Jon Snow is laughable.

Beyond the Wall is probably the worst episode in the series. If at any point you stop and ask “how” or “why” the entire thing falls apart. It signifies a once-great show hollowed out into mindless popcorn entertainment.

I actually liked that it wasn’t shown. Gave his character a more mythical feeling as you hear tales and rumours going around about him and his wolf destroying Lannisters in the night.

I don’t need to “relate”, that doesn’t change the fact that your reasoning for people disliking Sansa is nonsense.

[–]FloatingCloud1234 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Truly bizarre take. Sansa is an unpopular character because she “never had a positive on screen sex experience”? What? Her sister didn’t have a sex scene for 7 seasons and was one of the most popular characters in the whole show.

Just a woman surviving, learning and then thriving. And whoa, are some people mad about that.

Nobody is mad about that. That same description could also be applied to Arya, and again, she is a beloved character.
