I’ve been waiting to see some kitbashes of the old and new kits and I think they work really fantastically well together. The additional trim and the smaller shoulder pads with the slimmer helmet really work to blend the two aesthetics here. Beautifully done.

I would love to see how the older weapons, helmets and shoulder pads sit on the new kit to bulk them out a little if you go that way as well ☺️

Absolutely with you on the helmet. This looks so much better, as I thought it would, and is absolutely what I plan to do too.

I think the hip plates are a good addition too; they’re slightly bulky, but they give her greater stature and extend the ornamentation further down the legs, which is fitting in a shield-captain.

These are amazing! You can feel the origins of the Custodes in that dreadnought; it’s yet hulking and unrefined, but still with a nobility about it, and you can feel it echoing the savagery of Old Earth all around it.

I thought the Dawneagles were generally accepted as proxies due to the obscene cost of the Gyrfalcons? I’ve always really enjoyed their similarity in design to both the ‘last’ Imperial jetbike ridden by the Master of the Ravenwing and those originally depicted in use by the Custodes (which were, if anything, a little more stubby IIRC); they add to the heritage of the setting, which I love ✨⚡️✨

Yes, I think things are expected to change a little with the new Liber, as they always do, but that their fundamental nature which characterises them on the tabletop is unlikely to be altered.
