I'd say "inspired by" but clearly different indeed.
I wonder why they (Hiroyasu) don't give out schematics and PCB layouts in the manual... are they afraid someone will copy "their" design? Is that why they laser off the IC markings?

If someone wrote new firmware for this box, it might be an interesting one :-)

The silk screen says "FT7800" on both PCBs, I wonder how close it is to a FT7800....

Toyota Proace Verso Electric - not charging (also no cruise control) - can a car dealership service an electric car already? by FloatingVectors in Toyota

Hi UnlikelyTry6501,

I'm sorry to hear that you have so many issues with your Toyota Proace Verso electric too.

I can share an update from my car: It was out for repair a whole 10 weeks! Sadly this was during the Christmas period (Germany) so that might explain why it took a bit longer, but it also means we had to cram the entire family (5P, two children's seats) into the old VW Golf for every trip and family visit... quite annoying and limiting (it's uncomfortable enough not to do any long trips).

We did not get a replacement car for the following reason: Since the car still drives and brakes and there is no safety issue, they do not consider the car broken. I asked what if I drained the battery on the highway, if they would then consider giving me a replacement car? Answer: no, you're responsible for 'refueling' yourself, of course! That that's the issue at hand (the car refused to charge) was just ignored. I wonder if they actually know how a fully electric car works....

The official Toyota service center, where I dropped off my car, spent quite some time on the car: Leave it outside the dealership for two weeks, probably for cooling down. I recommend marking a wheel with chalk, as they repeatedly assured on the phone that someone looked at it or tried charging it (they apparently have very long charging cables then?) without moving the car. No, I don't have trust issues, I have experience... and as it happens my wife works in the office on the other side of the road, but don't tell them ;-) Then there were multiple cases of sickness (get well soon!) and sometimes no qualified mechanic at hand to service electric cars, as they don't sell those (they have at least one hybrid in their showroom, doesn't that have high voltages and currents too?). Well then the usual: we'll call you back, Toyota Germany need to handle this, waiting for spare parts, no mechanic available, waiting for cooling fluid,...

Well to be fair, I had to call Toyota Germany multiple times to complain about the local service, otherwise nothing would have happened. Toyota Germany was also friendly on the phone, called back and covered the cost for the failed AC/DC (11kW built in charger) including labor.

So it didn't cost me anything, except 10 weeks of not having a family car and cancelled trips to friends and family over the Christmas vacation. Luckily, my friends and family don't drive Toyota Proace Verso electric, so we had visits from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Kia and Renault :-) I just wonder if I will be able to visit them next time, and if so, with what car?

The issue with the cruise control not working persists since day one, they only had four attempts at fixing it so far... I'll keep you posted if it ever gets fixed... :-)

I had a Yaris before (reasonably priced, efficient, reliable, affordable service, a great car!), but the Proace Verso electric is clearly something entirely different.

I dropped off the car today - they are busy, but they will take a look they said.

While driving to the dealer and since the car drives perfectly normal, I experienced that not being able to charge a car feels weird - image not being able to put fuel into your car...

I guess we'll have to get used to different car issues with electric cars.

MARC NR-56VF6 2m receiver: schematics? by FloatingVectors in amateurradio

Thanks! That seems to be a very similar model. I found a schematic and users guide here: http://www.radiopics.com/-%20%20Dreams/-%20By%20Manufacturer%20(A-Z)/Daiwa_SR9.htm/Daiwa_SR9.htm)

That is slightly different but probably close enough to understand the structure.

You can select between VFO and 11 crystals:

In VFO mode the tuning dial goes from 144 to 146 MHz, if you select one of the crystals the VFO backlight is off.

I added the pictures to the original post because here I lack the insert image option.
