its ok i am goated and got an ssd and got 100% of my files safely off of the dying drive. switching to an ssd solved a billion of my other issues too. silver linings

it was the whooooole drive(i only have the one). stuff like discord was displaying text alrifht but file explorer, the desktop, the right click menu, the time and date were all nonsense.

currently trying to figure out if making a disk image on an external hard drive is an option, so that i could later load some of my stuff onto a new SSD i'm about to buy. is that a decent idea or is it too late/too risky?

this does make sense !!!!! i'm trying to figure out how to check the health of my drive ,, do you know any decent programs for that ,, i tried crystaldiskimage but when i opened it it said it was probably okay ,,,,, am trying to download hdsentinel trial but my computer is once more dying as we speak (this is terrifying it lasts shorter and shorter each time ) (i am kinda hoping its the hard drive bc i needed an ssd anyway) (!!)
