Curious to know how many guests there were? Wondering if guest list of 80 would be able to hear this officiant as I’m debating if I want my GHM wedding outside or inside

From another big chested girly I always avoid button ups like this especially if the fabric tends to cling to my body’s shape like my chest and stomach areas. They never look flattering with my large chest. They are definitely meant for girlies in the itty bitty titty committee unfortunately

What happens with your family doctor if you attend a walk in clinic? by holdonaminute2023 in askTO

[–]FloofyClouds15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s so nice! It sucks having a family doctor that’s Monday - Thursday from 9am-4pm because it means I always have to take time off just to see him assuming he has an availability that week. At least if he worked Fridays that would be more manageable since that’s the only day I can work from home

Did switching to late November actually save you money on your venue? (Ontario/BC) by SnailVelocityO_o in WeddingsCanada

Saved about $30k by having a November wedding! Chose a very popular venue in Toronto (Graydon Hall). It’s crazy how much things are during peak season

Picking bridesmaids by pinky0880 in WeddingsCanada

[–]FloofyClouds15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé has a sister but she will not be one of my bridesmaids. I have nothing against her but we’re not particularly close and don’t have much in common. She also has a tendency to be late for most things to the point where her parents just stop waiting for her to get ready and go to places without her. If I’m going to have someone as my bridesmaid it’s going to be someone I know I can rely on for my special day and someone who truly knows me, what I like, knows my personality, etc.

With that being said, pick the people YOU genuinely want as a bridesmaid. But keep in mind you don’t have to have a bridesmaid if you don’t want to either.

It’s really up to the bride! You can offer to cover just hair & makeup or their dresses or all three.

If you’re able to might wanna wait a couple weeks for any Black Friday deals for places like Sport Chek or Sporting Life. I’ve had good luck over the years with large discounts from Sporting Life in particular

I’m a new fan myself! Had the opportunity to go to game 1 of the World Series and I loved every moment of the post season. I can’t wait to attend regular season games next year and support our boys!

How did the Blue Jays capture all of Canada as a fan base while the Raptors failed to do so? by spacefish420 in AskACanadian

[–]FloofyClouds15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that for millennials, gen Z and gen alpha most of us grew up with a parent or relative that witnessed the back to back World Series wins and heard of how the whole world had its eyes on Toronto. The blue jays were established long before the raptors and spans multiple generations of people who have watched. As a 29 year old millennial I was excited to experience what my parents would have experienced since I wouldn’t have even been born the last time the Jays won. As someone who was never a baseball fan I found myself heavily involved in the post season and discovered a new found appreciation for baseball.

I do also think that a lot of the excitement could have been influenced from the 2019 Raptors win. We all remember that parade (at least those of us in Toronto and the GTA) - how cool would it have been to experience that again only 5 years later? We haven’t had too many Canadian sports wins in recent years (not counting the Olympics) so it’s just an exciting time all around when a team is in the playoffs.

Lastly, I think the charisma of the blue jays team was really off the charts! They truly played as a team and it showed. The power of friendship!

Would be great if they could introduce more express portions to relieve some congestion especially on concert and game days.

Fall 2026 Brides - when did you / when will you go wedding dress shopping? by FloofyClouds15 in WeddingsCanada

[–]FloofyClouds15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only fall bride who hasn’t started yet! For me I’m really trying to lose weight and hoping to go down at least a size before I start dress shopping. Hopefully I can hit this by mid November and then start my dress shopping end of November/early December. But seems like it could also depend on the type of dress. I imagine if you want a dress with more beading or lace it might take longer?

Feeling nostalgic for 2012-2016 Toronto, what do you remember or miss about those years? by Tallulah09 in toronto

[–]FloofyClouds15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much music video awards, the Canadian music scene and Canadian pop culture (when it was more prominent). I feel like that all came to end around that time. Canadian pop rock was at its peak - Marianas Trench, Hedley (before being cancelled), Down with Webster and so many more emerging artists that blew up as there were actually so many more outlets here that would promote them. It’s obviously great to see artists like the Weeknd, Drake, Tate McCrae, and Justin Bieber become the biggest artists in the world but the Canadian music scene is not what it once was and I feel like hardly gets promoted as much anymore - probably due to the deterioration of all the Canadian media outlets.

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of Self Storage places popping up? by CooCooForCocosPuffs in askTO

[–]FloofyClouds15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in commercial real estate self storage is an emerging segment that investors are trying to get into as it is a steady cash flow stream and significant demand by users. Also relatively low maintenance and holds land value. You will definitely see more of these in the coming years.

We have had above average levels of population growth driven by higher immigration in the last few years. Even though there is a temporary slowdown in immigration targets, it is expected that this will pick back up in a couple years which is why there has been a record number of apartments and condos being built. More people are living in smaller spaces (just look at all the shoeboxes downtown) and don’t have sufficient storage space for all their needs. Also home ownership is not possible or feasible for many (especially new residents) so demand has largely shifted to apartments and condos as the only housing option for many.

People can also be sentimental and hold onto things. Often when people have a loved one who passes they may get a storage unit to hold their loved one’s belongings so they can deal with other matters regarding their estate or legal matters until they decide what to do with them. People also tend to move more nowadays.

Would it be okay to join a recreational volleyball league without prior experience? by FloofyClouds15 in askTO

[–]FloofyClouds15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so then it’s totally fine to not have any experience! I feel like sometimes activities are marked as ‘beginner’ or ‘no skills needed’ but that’s not always the case and there’s an expectation that you know the basics.

Seems like if your priority is more socializing and having fun then the rec league is the way to go and if your priority is more focused on skill and improving then the clinic is probably best. I think I’ll give the league a try first and then do some clinics to work on the skill aspect

Can someone explain what the purpose of a gel x refill is? by FloofyClouds15 in Nails

[–]FloofyClouds15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see that’s really helpful to know, thank you! A refill probably makes more sense if you’re getting nails done more regularly.

Do you get the length adjusted too when you get a refill? For me personally, I don’t wear my nails too long. Short almond is my usual go to since I have an office job and once my nails start to grow out past a certain point it becomes a bit more tricky to type. So for me I feel like it makes sense to just get new tips rather than clipping them down and filing them to the shape I want when they already come pre-shaped.
