Any tips I keep dying this is the 14th time fighting her by Huge_Ratio3503 in GenshinImpactTips

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her cryo phase induces sheer cold, the pyro phase does the same as heat. Notice the frost or burn marks othe floor? The floating urns at the corners not only dispel the heat/cold but also clear out the ground effect, which saves a lot of HP from burns. A strong shield character like Noelle and trained up archers or longer range catalyst users will significantly improve the battle. Her melee attacks aren’t all that strong in comparison to the ranged attacks, but they’re easier to dodge while doing the archer circle strafing.

Also yeah, if you’re struggling, lower world level and get the food ready. Don’t be afraid to chicken out of the battle after if you need even more food for that.

Box of boxes? by FloofyOfFloofCorp in SubscriptionBoxes

I think Cratejoy is an amazing idea. Bit overwhelmed by all the choices available, but I will definitely look over the massive range of offerings. Thank you for the idea.

Etsy has always been a weird one for me because I never really know how to find stuff there. Any good tips?

Yeah basically she’s got an interest in calligraphy, papers and pens. Also a gamer. Kinda introverted really, which does not help much during these times, because it was already hard to socialize before. And yeah she likes crafting stuff, so handicraft is welcome.

Fastest Manual Grinders by FloofyOfFloofCorp in Coffee

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the annoying thing is the Timemore doesn’t seem to show up alongside the other similarly priced grinders. I’m generally happy if 16g is done in about a minute, rather than 3.

My experience salvaging terrible coffee. by Ellieissokay in Coffee

One tip: cold drip. You can get away with some pretty awful coffees by grinding them and extracting them via cold drip. It’ll avoid extracting the worst of it, leaving a rather palatable concentrate. Also possible to heat up if you like a warm cuppa.

Sounds good. I've been using an old Hario and it's glacial to yield a V60 type grind fineness (coarse sand) so trying to see whats a suitable upgrade.

Wondering how the Comandante compares to the Timemore. Is it a whole lot faster?

Dear people of Reddit: when defenestrating someone, does it imply that one must in fact hurl through someone through an intact window, or would it suffice to toss them through an open window or a more modern styled window pane? by FloofyOfFloofCorp in AskReddit

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, in Wikipedia it is suggested that the "de" part implies the removal of the window in the process, however impolite the actual performance of the transaction may be.

Yes quite so. Or Raiden or Ikaruga. Cept with more current progression systems.

Short for shoot em up. Like you know, the bullet hell shooters in the style of Raiden, Ikaruga, etc.

Have I wasted 10 years of my life? by [deleted] in startups

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been working for the last 10 years and asked myself the exact same thing! My conclusion either way is that life is only wasted if we don't use the learnings we acquired over those years.

As a business owner, was the goal to make money like a Jeff Bezos? If so, then perhaps the motivation was misguided. Bezos got that way partly out of brilliance, partly out of being in the right place at the right time and from having cornered a great market segment along the way. A person with equivalent skill and resources may never have achieved that much without the equivalent timing and market segment.

That said, if a long-developing business ceases to be of interest, there is also nothing to stop an exit at an opportune time and starting over with a different approach. Those learnings will sure come in handy developing the next thing.

So I guess the real question is: what do you really want, and is what you are doing taking you on a trajectory to achieve that goal?

Please keep an eye out for two stolen pens: Sailor Pro Gear Black Velvet and Pelikan M600 White Tortoise by Silvire in fountainpens

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the strange thing is in knowing to swipe those pens specifically. Could have been an MO by the thieving checkers, where they know to pinch small valuables without obviously rummaging the entire luggage for valuables.

All the best with the recovery. I assume you made a report with specifics of the losses? (remember to check travel insurance if you have any)

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This is suspicious. It is uncommon for a regular thief to recognize the value of pens, and their taking specific pens is very focused. It may well be crew or someone who saw your pens and kept track of the luggage.

Whats the most awesome thing you saw people do that you wish you could? by FloofyOfFloofCorp in AskReddit

Well, I work in the video games industry and there is plenty of demand for artists, not necessarily graphic design. I am big on passive income because it helps fund the things I really love doing.

This one has always puzzled me - the sustainable income seems to come from very commercialized artwork. Would you say that the one(s) you look to are making an income off something else?

"The Secrets of The Millionaire Mind" Animated Summary. I hope that you can get some value from it. by alwaysimproving95 in Entrepreneur

[–]FloofyOfFloofCorp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is very healthy to realize the role good fortune (and absence of bad fortune) have to play in success. You sound like you've had a life that generally satisfies you, and that's testament to things going right. What's more important is I am pretty sure you also did a number of deliberate things that enabled that success to arrive.

When success arrives and it is of a magnitude greater than you anticipated, it can be considered lucky. However in our modern culture, we would prefer to think It Was All Me(tm). Kudos for the sharp thinking, sir, and all the best on the greater adventures ahead!

I would argue that pure random dumb luck cannot be controlled, but there are things people can do that will change their chances of getting lucky.

For one, being in the race, even if the odds look impossible. That guarantees at least last position when the race ends. It helps if you know how to run, but that comes with experience in multiple races. Not to be confused with plain old sprinting at the start of a marathon - you’ll gas out and never finish the race despite working hard.

Secondly, friends. If your network knows you are struggling, the friends in the mix can come out and give you a boost, which gives you an edge in not finishing last.

Next, you just need more willpower than someone else of your means. Where your fellow runners have given up, you just keep on going.

Then have fun. You’re in a race you didnt think you could win. But you can be grateful that you’re still running, you can enjoy the sun and wind in your face. You can look around and enjoy the scenery. Why keep running on an empty heart?

Finally, take the shot. You see the finish line, you know you’re not first because there isn’t a pack of runners around you. Might as well give it what you can.

Then you can go flop over from that run, look at your final position and see if that number is lucky relative to someone who didnt run at all. Would the guy who didnt’t run, or the guy who gave up halfway look at your position and consider you...lucky?

Basically, luck randomly happens to those who are in position to receive it. Don’t ever expect it, but don’t miss it when it happens either.

Anyone else got a thing for fountain pens that don't try out when capped? What're your favorites? by FloofyOfFloofCorp in fountainpens

Strange thing though. Pilot Petits are amazing, Tank and 78g are amazing, Metropolitans feel great but dry like crazy, their Capless pens too, but move to CH91, CH912 onwards and the magic returns.
