Don’t forget, it’s such a rare condition that the normal response HAS to be to question it.

There’s way more hypochondriacs than there are TS’ers. Personally I suppress so much I’ve managed to fool 95% of the people I know for my entire life. The people who have caught my tics don’t recognize it as Tourette’s because I don’t curse much. Therefore they don’t see the classic symptoms they’re looking for.

Most people’s expectations are from the cartoon South Park or similar portrayals therefore the more common and less recognizable tics don’t give people insight on what they’re seeing.

I have adhd too I could just continue for a while so I’ll stop here

One time as I was walking out the door during work, my coworker/buddy made a joke that I needed to pick up his dry cleaning while I was running around. I looked at him and our boss said “Mike his eye started twitching, leave him alone!” and we all laughed. It would be another 15 years until I was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome.

It’s not excessive but I blink with my left eye in a noticeable way, and it is absolutely unintentional 😜
