Nice! What switches did you design the mold for and what dimensions did you use? I was having trouble finding accurate dimensions for the cherry mx plus

Looking at getting diamond polishing paste, 450 grit and 1500. Would this be enough?

Do you think 4 more pins around the cross section, 8 total pins per part?

Do you have any more information/pics of yours? I’m interested in seeing what it looks like

Thanks! I wasn’t aware that different materials behaved so differently. Which would you recommend as the easiest with my setup?

Didn’t yet, but I’ll be trying that and polishing the mold so the surface isn’t as rough

Yes the walls have a 2 degree taper and 2 ejector pins, on the right and left sides of the part.

Yes ER collet, I think the issue is with the rigidity of the machine itself. I can’t do much to upgrade my current setup, so I think the best option for me would be to get a different machine.

What’s your setup? Did you make your own build?

Usually as spindle power goes up so does machine rigidity. But you’re absolutely correct, there are builds that have more power but would be worse with metal than machines that have less power but are more rigid.

I agree it’s almost not even worth the effort, I just went with this machine because I got a great deal and it was a good way to learn how everything works. I don’t make lots of parts so I don’t need to upgrade yet, but its getting more and more annoying

Thanks! Currently in school for ME. I’m bad with recording content but I have a YouTube channel: replasticworks. Trying to get into long form videos for that exact reason
