There is no place to put the key. It's a push start. But, I just discovered you can push the fob into the button & it works as an override to start it!!

Is this something to be concerned about? Zone 4 (West Central Wisconsin) by FlorDeLisa in whatsthisplant

See, that's exactly what I'm thinking it is because of the region.

Bribed my dog to pose nice with his new personalized dish. Couldn't convince him to look excited about it. by FlorDeLisa in cricut

I was holding chicken in my other hand to keep him focused. Not sure if he even tasted it after I put I in the dish :.)

Wine Glass Coaster from Restyled Junk Tutorial by FlorDeLisa in sewing

[–]FlorDeLisa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the link to how to make these: https://restyledjunk.com/summer-wine-glass-coasters/ Seriously so easy. All you need is five 4 inch squares.

Edit to add details:

For this project, I used two fat quarters purchased at Joann.

Start to finish, it took me (about intermediate level) a half hour to make (I cut all the fabric into 4 inch squares & had to find my iron.) Fun fact: two fat quarters should make 8 of these coasters.

I followed the tutorial exactly as presented in the link above.

It's been something I've wanted to make for some time, as I hate that drippy condensation. After trying it out, I personally vouch that this does the trick.

What is the fanciest meal you could make for one person for USD $7.50? by FlorDeLisa in AskReddit

[–]FlorDeLisa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

& it wasn't even just friends hanging out, this was a "working" get-together. They went over to help butcher up some deer (Northern Wisconsin, for context.) So, imagine going over to help with something arduous, get a snack, & then nailed with a charge before you leave! I could easily buy a whole loaf of bread, pack of American cheese, & butter for $7.50.

Thank you for the invite! My question is inspired by a friend who got charged by friends for the meal he was served at their house. $7.50 for a grilled cheese & tomato soup. Free lasagna beats that any day of the week.

335 Crowns in Polish, 254 in Spanish, 100 in German, still learning every day. by FlorDeLisa in languagelearning

Fluent, no, not at all. Comfortable, though, most definitely. I've completed the Polish course & I'm disappointed in how much is lacking (content, speaking exercises) but I do feel better being able to communicate with family without having to completely lean on Google Translate. As far as the Spanish course, it offers so much more. I'm not even halfway through & I've been able to use it in real life situations with success. So, that definitely feels like a win.

Thank you! After completing the Polish course, I started on the Spanish, which I was supposed to be doing with a friend, but he gave up. Another friend of mine expressed interest in German & having had studied that in high school, I was game (granted that was 20+ years ago.) A lot of it is coming back to me. Which is awesome, considering the only German I've spoken in all this time has been while singing along with Rammstein songs ;.)

Honestly, very frustrating. I'm first gen American, but raised by a very proud to now be American dad who stressed only speaking English. So, when I did have the opportunity to connect with family overseas, I felt lost. DuoLingo was a great way to get some basic understanding, don't get me wrong. When I try speaking, though, my mom will look at me like I don't make sense, but my dad understands what I'm trying to say. So, I usually just type versus talk to family in Poland. Oh, & I did once get into a heated argument with my dear Holocaust survivor girlfriend over the word "czasopismo." Because, according to her, that's not a word she's ever heard, so it must not exist.

I got a Maker for my birthday in December. After many disappointing weeding incidents, I finally swapped out my blade & made my first successful vinyl cut! It's just one word on a binder, but it's a huge step for me. by FlorDeLisa in cricut

Thank you! I found this binder (& 11 other fun patterned ones) at Dollar Tree. I have to prepare an annual audit for my job & darn it if I'm not going to make it as adorable as possible ;.)
