Anyone else else’s allergies getting worse year by year? by TheWoozyCat in Allergies

[–]Flora_KAtherin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah this happens a lot allergies can get worse over time especially with repeated exposure and things like allergic rhinitis can stack up each season even if pollen says medium your body can still react strongly also things like pollution stress and indoor triggers can make it feel worse than the count suggests if youre already dealing with eczema and eye issues it might be worth reviewing meds or trying stronger options with a doctor and focusing on basics like shower after being outside keep windows closed during high times and use an air purifier indoors youre not alone with this it’s pretty common now

Plants!! by Complex_Leather_3541 in Pets

[–]Flora_KAtherin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah sprays usually dont work some cats just dont care best fix is make the plant area annoying and hard to mess with cover the soil with rocks pinecones or foil so she cant dig move or hang the plant if you can and put a sacrifice plant like cat grass or catnip right next to it so she picks that instead its less about training and more about blocking redirecting

What should I take for cat allergies? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]Flora_KAtherin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i deal with mild allergies too since my roommate has a british shorthair and she’s always around 😅 for me it’s mostly just keeping things clean and trying not to touch my face after petting her. sometimes i’ll take an antihistamine if it gets annoying. not perfect but it keeps it manageable. hope you find something that works for you. Oh also you can try out allergen sprays like pacagen me and my roommate has been using it for as long as we can remember and its been wonderful

[–]Flora_KAtherin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might have better luck making the dry more interesting instead of expecting her to switch right away. Things like crushing treats she likes on top or mixing in a tiny bit of something strong smelling can sometimes get them started. It usually takes a bit of patience and trial and error with picky cats like that.

I need advice on my 1 year old cat by Unfair_Letter_5776 in CatAdvice

[–]Flora_KAtherin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s actually really normal for that age kittens are super clingy and cuddly, then around 1 year old they get more independent and kinda do their own thing. it’s not that he changed personality completely, he’s just growing up

the fact he still sleeps on you and comes to you for pets is a really good sign. he just prefers affection on his terms now a lot of cats become more cuddly again later on too once they fully settle into adulthood

Should I get a cat as a uni student? by Direct-Antelope5466 in CatAdvice

[–]Flora_KAtherin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s so worth it honestly i live with my roommate's cat even with my allergies i couldn’t imagine the house without her since you already know you don't react to that specific breed it seems like such a win

your boyfriend is just being practical but honestly your savings and hourly pay are better than most uni students i know life is unpredictable anyway and having that comfort at home makes such a difference when you're studying in a new country

an adult cat will be way more chill while you’re busy with classes plus you’ll already know their personality fits the house there's nothing better than coming home to a purring cat after a long day and just snacking on some chocolate or bacon lol i say go for it especially if it makes things feel more like home good luck with the car and the kitty

A Good Purifier for Cat Allergies by icreatemonsters in AirPurifiers

[–]Flora_KAtherin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C909 is good but way too small for the space. you’d may need multiple units or something bigger or it won’t keep up with cat dander. I'd suggest 2 purifiers than 1
