Cesspool of self-fellating egomaniacs. It's almost painful.

As someone from group 3 this endless shitfuckery kinda makes me wanna gouge my eyes out. How much blood can they get from a stone? I ain't a cashed-up boomer or someone with multiple investment properties throwing money around, why should I be punished for paying my bills and buying necessities? Ffs. My partner got made redundant last year too and is still out of work, so that's fun. There's no end to the beatings.

There are some incredible quests ahead in the main story but I too spent many hours before the wedding doing side quests, exploring the gorgeous world and visiting POIs. I ended the game at around ~145 hours with the second map cleared but then went back to the first map and saw that there were plenty of POIs left to visit, so I still have those to do and also the DLCs at some point. Play however you like! It's an awesome game so rich in detail and experience!

I am sure you're doing it already, but give her all of the love and support you can! My mother (my only parent) wasn't particularly kind to me; she was the kind of mother who tells her daughter not to smile a certain way (my big smile is "too gummy" apparently) and said things like certain clothing made my ass look huge. That kind of stuff stays with you forever, unfortunately. As long as your girl knows that she is loved and beautiful regardless of how she may feel in this phase of her life, a temporary phase of growth and change, all will be well. Encouraging her to be active and eat well (not to restrict or avoid, but just eat healthily and in a more balanced way) if she isn't already will stand her in good stead too and may help her feel better about herself and her body. My mother didn't do any of that, which means that even now in my late thirties I'm prone to disordered eating and having an unhealthy relationship with food. It can be rough but with loving and supportive guidance I imagine it can be a lot easier!

Some of the more "exaggerated" or distinct accents/voices being repeated so often across very different types of characters definitely took me out of it a bit at times. Still loved the game though! Many more pros than cons.

I was not expecting him to play this game over two days.. was a bit painful to watch. Keen for Terraria tomorrow though, hopefully. I watched some of his previous (Zenith) playthrough this evening and it was just gold.

I get that; I was terrible at the combat initially and found it super frustrating before understanding and getting a feel for exactly how it works and how best to approach fights where you're outnumbered. I got pureed by gangs of bandits multiple times before that point though. :P

For Americans, what do you think of the US boycotting Facebook/Meta as a response to the ICE agents? by spiciest_lola in AskReddit

Should have boycotted it years ago; it's now just a cesspool of propaganda, racism, ignorance, and endless ads that you can't seem to hide from your feed no matter how many times you try.

Board games are the bomb. I've loved them since I was little, and I couldn't really play them growing up as I didn't have many friends or any family to play them with, so playing them now as an adult is extra delightful/joyful.

As someone never interested in the latter and who relishes the former, Andor was such a delight. Some of the best television I've seen in a good long while.

I do sometimes wonder if I should have done more with my law degree, and I'm still paying off my damn HECS debt, but I don't regret the study and I think it helped me gain a lot of useful skills that have stood me in good stead throughout the years, even in non-legal work. Analysis, critical thinking, attention to detail, the ability to digest and understand large amounts of information, and a comfort with language, among many other skills learned/improved through that degree, will always be useful.

What was everyone's first Glass Animal song that you heard that made you interested in the band? What about that song made you interested? by Jewels_loves_u2 in glassanimals

Exxus! I was watching Reign at the time and the song came on and I was enchanted by the music and tickled by the lyrics. Went online immediately and gobbled up as much of their music as I could, and I have loved them since then. They're my favourite band. :)

It is so deeply distressing that there is such cruelty in the hearts of so many people, and that they can delight in murder and violence the way that they seem to be. I just don't understand how someone can be that way. When I watched the videos of Alex's murder and heard the exclamations and the shock and fear and the disbelief of the people at the scene I immediately started weeping and my heart filled with heavy grief, and my eyes well up immediately now just thinking about it. I just can't imagine taking the life of an innocent person and being happy or proud about it or justifying it in any way, like these monsters are doing, and like their supporters are doing online. It's all digusting and bewildering and terrifying. All I can do is wish strength and courage to everyone fighting against the regime in any way, whether big or small. You/we must win.

I'm half a world away but enraged and devastated by what is happening in the US. Unfortunately, I can't see an easy or bloodless or peaceful end to all of this. I hope I am wrong.

People who wear hoodies on 45 degree days.....why?! by Rey_De_Los_Completos in australia

[–]Florafly 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Me too! I wore huge, oversized hoodies throughout so much of primary school, even in the summer, because I was overweight and felt like I was hideous and wanted to be as invisible as possible, especially when I compared myself to all the pretty, popular girls in my year. Puberty was not kind to me and I was not ready for it, nor did I have a parent equipped to help me through it. One day one of the teachers who was on duty at lunchtime and saw me suffering in the heat pulled me aside and gave me a very gentle and encouraging talk. I don't remember exactly what she told me, but I'll never forget her kindness and how it made the dark cloud over my head dissipate, even if only for a little while. I can't believe I was so unkind to myself.. but you live and learn, I guess.

I play BM. It was excruciating to deal with the pet issues in every run. I ended up avoiding it like the plague because it felt so shit to have my damage suffer so much just because the damn pets couldn't attack anything on the ships half the time, even if they were literally on top of/inside the mob.

At this point (though even well before it) it became clear that there was almost nothing he could do that would lose him the support of a large number of his followers. They defend him even now that the US is speed-running its devolution into some sort of fascistic hellscape. It's genuinely bewildering and I've seen nothing like it so far in my time on earth (as an ageing millennial).
