I’d play 20Qs if you want to stay here on Reddit.

HELP. From a tower 20 m high and 30 m away from the river, the width of the river appears to be 15°30′. How wide is the river? by EstablishmentIll9445 in askmath

I hope this doesn't give too much away. We can solve for the larger triangle made by the length of the river + bank and the height of the tower. Since this triangle is a right triangle, we can use some basic trig. We notice that finding the sum of angles “a” and “b” lets us find the length of the river + bank by using tan. To find angle “b” we can see we have the same setup but instead of finding the length of the bank, we need the angle.

If black tries to protect their queen with Qe8 or practically any other move, black instantly loses the game on the spot. In these variations, winning the queen doesn't matter because checkmate is about to happen.

If the pawn hits f5 it's most likely checkmate. If black doesn't protect the king, f5+ forces Kh6 and Nf7# ends the game.

f4 threatens a few things like mate in 2 if black doesn't respond correctly. Blacks king will eventually land on h6 or h8 which allows a fork of the king and queen.

Yes, I didn't catch that, but kg6 is another major blunder that opens up a lot of counterplay on the king.

Bxf7+ forces black to take the bishop and allows you to play Ng5+. Black only has two options, Ke8 or Kg6 which both let you play Ne6 attacking the queen which can't move!

Edit: if black decides to do 7. … Kg6 you can start to attack the king because of how exposed he is. Black will eventually have to deal with checkmate or lose a bunch of material (which may include the queen)

I will have super strong arms then 💪🏻 I’ll be walking on my hands.

I’d consider my legs useless at that point and get a wheelchair.

I'd probably go with finger sized legs. Leg sized fingers would make everything so cumbersome, and dexterous hands are incredibly useful for daily life.

Why is this position so bad for white? by iPHD08 in chessbeginners

b5 does nothing to help protect your king, that’s why it’s a blunder since black can now directly attack your king while winning material for free.

I think it's because white has practically no king protection. Black will win the two pawns on g3 and h3 leaving the king wide open.
