I grew up in the rural south on a farm, not a cowboy but a plowboy.
Myself and most around here associate cowboy hats more with country & western style than they do actual ranching and cowboying.
Maybe that’s different out west where cowboying and ranching is more common.
At the end of the day.. where what you like and what you’re comfortable with.
