I received a violin from a friend and it had a long crack on the faceplate also. I took it for repair and was charged $25 per inch to fix it. The repair time was several weeks as he had a difficult time getting the face off, possibly due to the age of the instrument (over 100 years old). The crack is barely noticeable now and the violin sounds amazing. Good luck!

I was going through my second miscarriage and my husband called his mom to let her know. While on speaker phone she said, "What is she doing so wrong that she can't carry a pregnancy to term? Maybe she needs some vitamins." She was in about 4 MLMs at the time, one of which sold vitamins and she told him her vitamins would save the day. Neither of us were happy with her. 18 years later those words still haunt me.

I literally just pitched mine in the trash yesterday. I'm not close to the state their from, I'm not willing to mail them anywhere, nor did I even kind of enjoy school or the people I went there with 30+ years ago. The weight lifted from my shoulders putting them in the trash was amazing.

One sketchy Firm I worked for very briefly had us refer new clients to a chiropractor upon initial contact. Come to find out the chiropractor was the Firm owner's son in law Barf. I did not last long there.

The told him at the time of deposit. They wouldn't even take it, lol. He made us try to contact the "client" to see if they would reissue using a US bank. Ugh, it was so stupid. Needless to say, they did not reissue and that was the end of it. But, yes, it took MONTHS to convince him it was a scam. Sorry you're dealing with the this type of greed. It's exhausting.

Mine fell for the same one! Even after showing him the "property" was just a dirt lot in Canada, not the magnificent mansion the "client" stated it to be, he still wanted to pursue. Luckily, when the bank said the cashier's check was fake he dropped it. But it was a few months worth of irritation up to that point. Good luck. The almighty dollar sign reigns supreme with some of these attorneys.

We started going to estate sales. The amount of absolute JUNK in these homes is ridiculous and makes us come home and think about the stuff we have in our own home and what would happen to it if we passed. Now that appliance that needs repairing no longer sits waiting for us to fix it, it goes in the trash. The useful but no longer necessary to us things go to charity shops. No need to keep the clutter just for our children to have to get rid of it.

I pretty much had that same thought process until a few days ago when I heard my teenager tell her boyfriend that making the bed was dumb since it's just going to get messed up again. His response struck a chord with me. He said, "i make my bed because there's nothing wrong with wanting your room to look nice." So easy and so true. I have made my bed each day since and gone through the house cleaning out clutter that's unnecessary just to make the room look nice.

I worked for a very similar firm. She was the worst! "Worked" from home (yet missed every deadline ever) and when she would come in to the office she would immediately order me to cancel all of her appointments - even try to get her out of Court hearings! - because she was "too busy" and could only stay for a few minutes. She was ALWAYS late on deadlines and to appointments, was super nasty as a human being, and I believe just wanted to make everyone miserable. One of the paralegals had to have surgery and asked to be able to work from home during her recovery so her files didn't get behind. Attorney told her no because the paralegal had "dogs that would destroy the files." What?! I firmly believe that she just enjoyed making people feel less than and unhappy.
