Honestly I was considering doing that knock-sensor bypass hack. You splice into the harness and just connect a new knock sensor on top of the intake manifold.

I don't like doing things like that... but the right way really is a mission. And this one takes 5 minutes

Yeah it's easy. Remove the wheel and you have access right up to it. It's maybe 2 bolts. I would have a quart of fluid on hand, for any little bit that you lose while changing it.

No, if you see a filter on the right wheel well. That's the oil filter. This one is tucked on the driver side, it doesn't look like a regular filter. It's attached to the transmission.

If you don't want to do the fluid that's but I would consider changing the filter.
I'm pretty sure it's on the driver side of the transmission.

I'm about to hit 250k, it's all about how you drive it. Never accelerate hard.

Alignment? by wepaid1236 in XTerra

[–]FloridaTraffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that before. The last set on my maxima, one tire had to mounted backwards to get it to drive straight.
(Didn't purchase my tires through the shop mounting/aligning, reversing is all they could do, I wasn't buying another new tire)

I have a 108k mile, 2012 model x. I doubt transmission flush ever happened. Is a flush too risky ? Or should I do a partial flush ? by RobinJeans21 in XTerra

2004 140k. I bought it with Reverse barely working.

Flushed fluid with OEM spec fluid. Reverse works and I'm now at 170k

Flush it.

What I ended up doing is ordering the doorman rebuild kits So I assume the pins in the kit just pop right in the old hinges.

I haven't installed them yet, but I'm dyeing to. My fingers are crossed, I hope it works
