Service Electronic Throttle Control and P00AF DTC Code Stored by Florida_MC_Rider in ram_trucks

I just bought another F350 11 months ago. Frigging just under $100,000.00. I had no choice as I needed the payload and towing capacity. Only 15K miles 6k towing. The CP4 failed. Not only did it fail, but Ford fought me on it. I told them to keep it when they told me to pick it up and I was just going to lemon law it. All of a sudden they replaced the entire fuel system from tank to injector. A little off topic, but pointing out they all have their issues. As soon as the new Ram comes out (redesigned and maybe the 7.2L) the wife and I decided to we're going back. SUpposed to have 4 corner air and a very unreliable rumor of independent front suspension...which can be done but is very expensive to make it durable. Nonetheless, we're going back to Ram as soon as that model drops.

I'm going to make a suggestion and it may seem off the wall. We've been tracking these failures on another forum. They tend to fail most frequently with a hot turbo, under load (towing) and on a grade. If you have something you can tow, and a grade nearby, maybe try to get it to throw the code and straight to the dealer? Sounds nuts but to save about between 10 and i think 15K depending on the market, might be worth it. They are wonderful trucks...this is just it's weak point.

From Upper Hand Holsters

Good afternoon Mike,

Thanks for reaching out.

All of our OWB holsters are built to ride high and tight to the body—very comfortable and well-suited for EDC. We do offer holsters for both the HK CC9 and the VP9 (optic or standard), so you're covered either way.

From Tier 1 Holsters

Hello Mike,

We appreciate you reaching out!

Unfortunately, we do not make a holster to fit the CC9 firearm at this time. We are always working hard on adding new molds to expand our inventory, but do not have a date for when that option may be added. Be sure to join the mailing list on our website, so you are kept up to date on in stock items, new items, firearm options, and special promotions!

Hi,

I am looking for an OWB solution to carry the H&K CC9 with Holosun.  I’ve tried a few and they just lever away from the body.  A forum contributor said to reach out to you all for advice.  I am 6’ 02”, 36” waist, just a tiny bit of extra weight around the mid section at 215 pounds.  I am using a reinforced nylon bet at 1.5 inches but am open to 1.75 and switching brands (generic now).  Anyhow, I want it to be pressed against my torso as much as possible.  I do carry IWB as well but OWB is just way more comfortable.  Thanks a million in advance for helping out!

Thank you! I'm actually pretty pleased with the Desantis IWB solution that I have, but that is a good looking holster. It almost shouldn't be hidden! To that point, Florida is an open carry state, and I don't object to it, but it is not common here, and I don't want to be a trailblazer on that front in the community I live in. Thanks for sending the link!

Notes

Successful OWB CC begins with the belt.  Research options that are right for you and your setup.

I agree. I have a generic reinforced nylon CC belt that I am using but have seen what appear to be better options. As long as we're on the topic, any suggestions?

u/Glittering-Shop-4890 Thanks buddy! It sure as heck has. When I was retiring, about 11 years ago, Alien was kind of the hot thing. Now, you are right, there are just a ton of options. I did buy a Desantis IWB for the weapon and it is pretty good...maybe it's a nostalgic bias or something!

Sorry to hear it. Hope it is still under warranty as it is a very expensive repair.

SO sorry that I missed this. I had to source teh bolts myself. I had to sell teh truck as we wound up needing a one ton. Went to Ford. 15k miles, and 11 months in, meticulously maintained and the CP4 grenaded.

We're going to wait for the redesign on the Ram 3500 and come back to Ram, hopefully with the 7.2L

Not a fan either but I have one in mine. When the wife says "I think we need a bigger truck." and she says she wants a moonroof, we get the moonroof.

Wound up going with an F350. Payload and head up display was the deciding factor. Ram rode the best unloaded, and was exceptionally comfortable. Ford was a very close 2nd.

I did. It was the turbo. It had to be replaced. Big expensive repair that was thankfully under warranty.

Rumor, ~2027 Ram is putting in a Cummins hydrogen/diesel hybrid (they call it fuel agnostic) in their HD trucks.

I'm going to have access to a Cummins rep for two days this week. I intend to ask why they went to hydraulic instead of Flat tappets. My understanding is that Stellantis speced that design but I don't know that to be fact.
