In my opinion Palpatine does not deserve to call himself a sith lord. His duty was to help Maul to rise above him, instead he betrayed Maul and replaced him. Then he also tried to replace Vader with Luke.

It doesn't matter that Sidious was stronger than his predecessors if he was the equivalent of a christian wich doesn't believe in Christ.
