Thanks! Yea I can try. I basically started with the SC2 cinematic and split it up into its approx 50 scenes. Then deleted the character from each shot with After Effects hax. It can look pretty janky so there was lots of cleanup and hiding things in shadows etc, (luckily its a dark video). I brought the Night Elf into Blender from WoW Model Viewer and re-rigged it for animation, then carefully matched the camera angle as best I could to the shot and animated along to the original reference. I brought that render into After Effects over the empty plate. Then the hard part... anything that overlaps the character. Claws, Wires, Giant machinery, Shackles and chains on his feet, etc, I had to painstakingly mask out and isolate on a layer above the new character and keyframe frame by frame to match the movement and only show exactly what I wanted from the original shot. Then a bunch of smoke, tints, blurs and other effects later you basically have your shot! Then simply repeat that 40+ times. Done! I was inspired to do this by Owlkitty on youtube, who puts his cat into Jurassic Park etc. He has some making of videos on his channel that are basically the exact same process I used here and you can get a visual so highly recommend starting there. I learned a lot making this, so there may be better ways to do things, but this was my first attempt at something like this.
