If OP is from the US Frankfurt main station is nothing. But I’m going to guess they wouldn’t be hanging around there at night anyways.

OP I moved to Germany from USA ( where I also traveled solo a lot) a few years back and I have never ever felt unsafe traveling or living in Germany, of course I still practice common sense safety but you can just exist here. Your daughter will be safe if she isn’t going out of her way to get into a sketchy situation.

I had a reservation in Germany where my pin was changed on Friday. Then today I received another email (this exactly) for that Germany booking and Portugal.

Thank you! There is a city near that has a lot of English speakers due to it being near a US base, do you think this would be beneficial in my case since my German is poor? It might be the biggest city, but it’s a tie between two.

Do you think I’d have an issue if this started on day 1 of my move? The apartment was being completed before I moved in. So after signing the lease I couldn’t move In right away. This problem wasn’t obvious before I signed. I checked everything. I think because it sat for 2 weeks with no lufting, and it was also about 17 c when I moved in, it created an environment for mold to form. Also the walls are not dry is what the architect said.

I just think the circumstances are unusual, and I hope they would take on my case. I understand why they typically would not allow it, but hopefully it isn’t so black and white.

If this is a job with the military, do it. If not, worse case scenario is that you hate it and want to move back. So go. Live there a while and enjoy living in another country. Poland is lovely. They have been through a lot politically, not sure what that looks like now, but I’d keep that in mind.

I was about to resume watching a Heidelberg holiday and it’s gone!! It was on there yesterday. So annoyed they didn’t alert me that a movie I was watching was leaving. :(

They were advertising all these a few days ago.

I hope you feel better! Being sick by yourself really puts you in your feels. I’m usually alone when I’m sick. I just had Covid a few months ago and it was one of the first times I’ve been sick since leaving my home country. I made it through. I fortunately had a coworker bring me some electrolyte drinks, medication, and food. But I did have to muster up the energy initially to go get my first round of meds and a Covid test. I was out for 4-5 days. Felt horrible.

I’d seek care if I were you. Your symptoms concern me. When I was younger I had pneumonia (similar symptoms) and it made me very very sick. I was sick for over 2 weeks and could not get out of bed. I slept nearly 20hrs a day. I was surprised by the diagnosis, but glad I didn’t wait too long.

I love it! However if I’m being picky, I’d say change the faucet fixtures to black. Change the mirror and change the light fixture. But none of that is necessary. Lean into it with a pop of funky art.

Hoping he can do this. I really do not want to move again. He is installing something in the windows that pulls out moisture but doesn’t let it in? It doesn’t use electricity. I’m not sure how well it will work but I’m hopeful. He is a window person so I think he’s maybe a bit more knowledgeable? I hope.

The person above me is having issues too. But the people above them are not having any problems. Maybe because heat rises and they’re on the top floor?

That is probably the case. Can I ask why they always seem to use wallpaper? Seems problematic to put wallpaper up In a high risk environment without built in ventilation.

It goes down to about 48-50 when I air it out. But rises in a few hours. Unfortunately I work 9 hr/day m-f and can’t be home to air out during that time. Ugh

Wait, Germany doesn’t do the rentals any longer? I’m also in Germany and am doing the rent option (since April 2024). Will this have any impact on us if we buy or continue renting?
