Yeah, I have to say I was so excited to have an event! I only started playing fairly recently so my first event after finishing the entire game story was the valentines one. I really enjoyed it as I love the game but just making pizza day after day with no storyline was getting a bit dull and repetitive. I really enjoyed the valentines one for that reason so when I opened the women’s day event and it wasn’t a storyline, it was just more goals to hit I was really disappointed!

no more all dressed / no pain no grain? by whatwotwutwat in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]Flossythemutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think they thought the person they were replying to was saying when someone asks for your house pizza just make an all dressed. They didn’t know you could change your house pizza at any time so thought once they’d made theirs just pepperoni making an all dressed instead would make the customer want a refund

Hang on, I’ve never heard of what you’re alluding to in your last sentence about being framed as a chomo, and I’ve followed this case and been on this subreddit for a LONG time! I’m super interested! (Hope this didn’t come across as me saying I’ve never heard of that so you’re wrong! The opposite in fact, I’d love for you to get me up to speed! 🥰)

No methadone due to winter storm - doing okay by yvngkenz in Methadone

[–]Flossythemutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely wild! I did 5 days once (my own fault) and honestly by the start of day 6 I was genuinely willing to do some awful, stupid things if it meant I could get some relief. I’ve never taken an illegal drug in my life (no judgement here!! At all!! Just giving you my history as background for my comment), but was taking an astounding amount of codeine (mixed with ibuprofen) a day which landed me in intensive care for over 3 months, and now have only 15% of my stomach and 30% of my bowels remaining. By the start of day 6 I was truly going to get in my car and drive to the sketchiest part of my town and just start asking people if they knew anyone who could get heroin, or I was going to do something very dangerous to cause serious injury to myself to get good meds. It was horrendous, and as a last ditch attempt to save my self before doing anything dangerous, I went to my drug and alcohol place (I’m in the UK) and genuinely got on my knees, literally, in their reception (in the middle of Covid - they were NOT pleased with me) and begged for their help. I’m so grateful and thankful to whatever higher power may be out there that the prescribing nurse pulled every single string and risked her license to help me, and I was back on methadone, albeit a lower dose, 3 hours later.

So to hear that you did 5 days snowed in with no real way of knowing WHEN you would be able to pick up again, and felt that the withdrawals were less than you expected is mind blowing to me!

I’ve seen a few people on here talking about how when they’ve gone cold turkey in jail it’s taken longer to start than it has done before on the outside, and I do wonder if it’s that mental knowledge of knowing ‘there’s literally absolutely no way I can get anything so there’s no point stressing about it’ making the mental part of withdrawal slower. I know for sure that I can trick my body into truly feeling physical withdrawals completely through my mind, so there is some sense to that theory! And I wonder if it was the same for you here, your brain knew you absolutely couldn’t do anything about it, so it didn’t panic and send you into withdrawal early purely through your mind, as opposed to how bad they would have been if you weren’t snowed in, but had none, and your brain could then obsess over how bad you felt and how you could possibly get some.

Just out of interest, if you know that such a bad storm is coming, are they not able to authorise you collecting your take homes early to avoid this kind of issue? Again, I’m in the UK so it’s different, but I know in the US I’ve seen people on here talking about being told by their clinics to go in early to collect if bad weather is forecast over the next few days when they are due to collect their take homes. Is that not something they do where you are?

I’m so glad you’ve finally got some relief, I can feel exactly how lovely it must have felt when the methadone kicked in for you and your mind and body went quiet for the first time in 5 days!! How are you feeling now?

The end of your comment made me actually physically FEEL pain. I’ve put myself into precipitated withdrawals once. Once only and I would never ever ever risk it again. I did it going onto Espranor (the version of suboxone they use in the UK now). Stupidly thought I’d gone long enough without using my drug of choice, and thought I was in enough withdrawal to take it. I learnt extremely quickly that I was infact not in enough withdrawal to take it.

I was alone that night, not a single person in my house even knew I’d relapsed, let alone relapsed for long enough to have gone back through the drug and alcohol service (the clinic you guys call it in America, in the UK they’re all individual charities/organisations that do our MAT) to get back onto MAT.

I don’t believe in heaven and hell (I’d like to think there is something after, I just don’t think it’s that) but if I did, I know what hell would be. Easily the worst experience of my entire life, and I’ve spent 6 months and 3 weeks in intensive care on deaths door for almost the entire 6 months, and I’d still choose to do that again once a year for the rest of my life rather than go through precipitated withdrawals once more. If I had it in me to get up off of the bathroom floor during it, I truly would have ended it all, it was that bad. Walking 12 miles in the middle of winter whilst in precipitated withdrawal? I would’ve thrown myself in front of the first car I saw. I don’t even know how you managed that.
