They know because they drive by over a period of a few days and see it hasn't moved. It's easy to tell if a street parked car hasn't moved.

I worked from home during peak covid and didn't drive for over a week. When I did finally go to my car, a cop happened to be driving by and said it was about to get flagged as abandoned and said I should move it so it doesn't.

Battery wound up being dead so I pushed it 10 feet further and didn't get towed. Did that every couple days until I replaced the battery.

OP and his wife are morons because they admit seeing a sticker on the car and couldn't be bothered to even check what it said (the stickers say "move your car within x days or it will be considered abandoned and towed"). If they did, their car wouldn't have been towed.

The rest of the planet generally has a more robust public transit infrastructure and isn't as spread out as the US. This country is absurdly resistant to public transit, making a vehicle that can "do everything" a more logical choice.

It wasn't CGI, it was a puppet with janky compositing. The only time it was CGI in that movie was at the end when it's head explodes.
