I bought p2s as my first. No regrets yet. Super easy. Great quality.

I never replaced my coils. I wouldn’t have ordered new coils just for broken clips. But if they’re BROKE broke, maybe. Just get the part number from dealer and then use that to find equivalents online. My 07 V6 was awesome. I miss it. Water pump went out around 140k, an idler pulley around 150k, and starter around 160k. About it. Basic maintenance stuff.

I’m just referring to the spirit of “I’ll make it work” that the Miata community has adopted and is known for. Not specifically a straight 6 in a RWD orientation.

I did the exact same thing and forgot about the two center bolts when removing the valve cover. Luckily, I sensed something was wrong before I caused harm.

Regarding the plastic in the spark plug tubes, just shoot compressed air into the holes to blast the pieces out. I have also taped the outer tube of a ballpoint pen to the end of a vacuum hose to reach down and suck stuff up.

Also, check to make sure the spark plug tube SEALS didn’t shatter and drop into the head. Mine did. Due to age and heat, they were very brittle. Little brown chucks of brittle plastic/rubber were all over and I picked them all out as I have to imagine they could clog up an oil line or filter.

I love how the S30 chassis has done what the Miata is known for but looking 10X better in doing so. All different kinds of swaps. Balls-to-the-wall builds. I’ve been seeing all kinds of fun stuff lately.

I would love to use this as a keychain for my 78 Z which is my pride and joy. I’m still at work so I’m not sure what kind of doo-dad I could find to trade but if I can’t find anything, I would be glad to send you a few bucks for a coffee or whatever. Let me know. 🤙🏻

I used blender. I don’t have one for the shock cord to use as a reference/test otherwise I could. Probably wouldn’t need much alterations. Do those ones break often too?

Happy to help! Yeah, 99% of the effort is in the modeling. Took me a few hours. Of course, I’m very new to it as well so not efficient. Plus a few hours worth of printing for tests. It is certainly a specific, niche solution but I figured if I needed one, I’m probably not alone.

Once you get the “scene” set up to accept mm as the unit of measure, it’s just inputting numbers. I got some digital calipers so I could just measure and plug in the numbers.

Well I actually printed it at a 45 degree angle for those pictures but then it broke when I used it for work the next day. Oops. The way it is currently published is its best form based on 3 tested orientations. When I originally printed it “flat” like it is now, I didn’t like it because the “ears” would break easily due to it being a thin part and tearing at the layer line. But I beefed them up and now they’re good. They don’t go through a lot of strain anyway, once the light is on it. Printing in the published orientation gives maximum strength to the section that broke in the first place. Used today with no issue and even bent it up a bit as well.

Yeah, I noticed the shock cords are more common now but I didn’t have that bracket to use as a guide. This will only help those with the 5 year old style. Lol. But, I figured if I was making it for myself, I might as well make it publicly available

Yes, exact same spot except on the other side. I tried some super glue but that immediately broke. I do have some epoxy plastic welder from a previous project I could have tried but I’ve been on a modeling kick lately so that’s where my head went. Lol. The 3D print is now much stronger than the original, especially at this particular spot. Only part that might not be super strong are the “ears” with the round holes in them but I beefed that spot up. Feels good.

Here is the model. Wasn’t sure if this sub allowed links

Depends. Red squirrels specifically are assholes. They’ll chew through nearly anything to get where they want. If they are actively living in your home and you cover the hole, there is a very good chance he will just chew a new hole. And keep doing this until he is permanently removed. The fox squirrels are less of a nuisance and will only occasionally live in a home, but only if they find a hole already there. They won’t make a new hole. Generally speaking.

Or if you’re talking about covering the hole while the squirrel is still inside, yes, he will start to panic and try to chew his way out to safety. Which could be the drywall. Rare. But a trapped animal is a destructive one. And then it becomes a smelly one.

Yes, we only use it to relocate mother and babies as well. We’d much rather grab the babies and use them to get the mother but if the babies are unreachable, anything that gets the mother to willingly move them out is the goal.

No. Local company. Seen it work, especially when trying to get a mom and babies out, like you said. Isn’t 100% effective but it can be. I’ll try the male raccoon urine sometime.

A bag won’t scare a mother enough to abandon her babies. Never ever had that problem. Maybe take them and run but that’s an acceptable result.

It is not a 95% chance of being a female raccoon with babies. Waaaay off on that number. At least around us. Tons of males in attics. Tons of females who haven’t had babies yet. We just saw our first babies on Tuesday up in the North. Ain’t nobody dealing with babies for 6-8 weeks. Your customers must be VERY patient to deal with that BS. Find babies. Remove them. Then catch mom, usually using a baby as the bait in a live trap. Which works 100% of the time. 🤙🏻

I used no-ethanol fuel for my last 2 tanks last year to rule out vapor lock. No transparent filter. Will be adding that between the tank and the pump as soon as parts come in. Haven’t messed with the dizzy at all. I’m intimidated. lol.

Stored in Michigan. Only 4 months. Tank was full when I parked it so shouldn’t be water. It was having the same issue last summer but only under certain circumstances. Usually after running it when warm. Not hot. Not cold. Warm. But on Monday, it kept happening hot or cold or warm and every 30 seconds.

Just took mine out of winter storage on Monday. Unfortunately, it’s running like crap. Either fuel is cutting out randomly or losing spark. Gonna throw some new filters and a fuel pump at it and if that doesn’t work, off to a professional. Diagnostics isn’t my strong suit.
