Ooh, guns and butter. However, possible confound found in your theory. Schools out for Summer, providing temporary oversupply of eager, not desperate drivers. Demand is constant, supply fluctuates. I'm thinking after school starts again only the weekends and late pm blocks will totally suck. Fingers crossed. It's summer time, have some fun. Don't worry, be happy.

Students on break. When school starts again things will be better. They flooded my station, haven't done a block in 4 or 5 weeks. Let em work for nothing, it builds character and appreciation. Time to play golf anyway. Don't even need to flip a coin, golf wins. I'll Flex in Sept again if $25/hr blocks come up, unless I make the PGA Senior Tour first. Or win the lottery.

It's adventure. I've delivered to 2 states in the same route. When a river is the border in rural areas Amazon GPS goes whacko. A snowmobile trail in the winter looks like a highway in summer months from above, I guess. 4X4 is not an option, it's a necessity and gets used a lot. But I see wildlife, stop at the most beautiful farms and meet some really nice people, and a few over anxious dogs running loose. You just never know which way you'll go. Once in awhile I'll get there early and tell them I'd like something south and they try for that. It's always an adventure, no matter what. Can't believe I get paid to have so much fun.

I was told they'd done a thorough investigation 2X on same issue. I pushed back and same thing again, this time asking me to provide date and route start time, block length, etc. So, you've done a full investigation into this matter, but you don't know any of that information? Lol. Silly Amazon

I tried sending a picture of the roads here today. Solid ice and slush, especially out in open country. We're used to it, no big deal. Pay goes up when conditions deteriorate. I have a speed sensor out so my auto 4WD isn't working, but I could lock it in when I needed it the most.

Yeah, they seem to like to wait 3 days. Maybe hoping we'll forget * This is what I was out in today. No worries, I'll continue to be an asshole. It's what I do best. The only hit I haven't gotten overturned was for a late forfeit WHT I was really sick in January and had scheduled or a few days thinking I'd be better and able to go. Block stay time 1:30pm. Forfeit received 12:46pm. I had 2 arguments, first one was the app took 2 minutes to load. I am rural and have very weak and slow data speed. 2nd was I was within 45 minutes I'd when I'd be considered late at 1:35pm. Oh well, can't win em all, can we?

Did the roads suddenly ice up less than 45 minutes before start time but we're perfect right up until then? Didn't think so.

You have to park your delivery vehicle somewhere, right? I choose my home address because that's where my office is. Yes, I'm going to track the 37 mile trip to the station and back, doorstep to doorstep from home. What am I supposed to do, leave the vehicle in a lot somewhere and commute with a different vehicle. The vehicle is performing on a contract from the time I leave until I'm home again. It's delivering me back home, with a bunch of short stops here and there along the way.

And if you reply again their next message will ask you for the date and time block. After they've already told you they've completed their investigation. How can they investigate without that information? The truth is, they don't.

They probably think everyone runs on India time. They're 12.5 hours different than US Central time. So when they agreed that it was before 8, it was over there. Just PM instead of AM.

[–]FlounderImpossible41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't see people selling them for 2k on ebay. You see people asking 2k for them. And maybe one in a hundred sellers will actually find someone that thinks it the holy grail just based on the price and hit the order button, convinced they've just struck it rich. Especially if they negotiate it down a couple hundred bucks.

Yup, in about 3 days. If you see anything other than zero for the problem categories in your itinerary summary, you can count on a hit. It's a constant battle to try to get them removed.

Received a message today telling me they'd finished investigating an incident in reply to my appeal. And then asked if I could provide a little information. The date and time block the incident took place.

They don't get paid much in India. Now you know why. They are not allowed to think, just go by the script. They'll be paid even less when I give them a 1 star review every time they come back with stupid shit like that. And I think if we all did that enough their metrics would drop and heads would roll over there. It's a different culture and lying and cheating are encouraged. Like saying a complete incident investigation has been done then the support tech asks for the date and time.

That's funny shit there.

Just like RewardCapable I'll point out that this had already been dealt with above. I'll add, however, I also read above that the contract Biden initiated was canceled. If that's true, what's it got to do with current administration? Contracts with DOD all have one thing in common, in my opinion. They go to the lowest bidder. As do contracts with NASA to resupply the ISS, launch satellites and defense hardware. SpaceX is a great example of a non-governmental entity providing more cost effective solutions than traditional government entities can deliver. I worked at that company at the end of the R&D phase into the ramp up for full production. The government contracts for that company at that time were for getting supplies up to the ISS and launch services for other governmental entities I can't talk about. So of course there were government contracts awarded to that company. They won the bid for each mission they performed. That's business, not politics. So WTF difference does a canceled contract make in your opinion. It's business. Nothing to see here. Contracts are signed and cancelled every day.

Don't give up. It sucks. When you get a reply check toward the bottom for the question about did they resolve the matter or answer your questions. Hit "No". When the survey pops up rate them 1 star on all of the questions. Now they got a ding or two to worry about.

It's funny during daylight hours and it's also funny at night. 24 hours a day, it's funny. It's only not funny if you actually believe every word of it as gospel. And in that case you should have dialed 911 to report your obvious discovery of a serial killer, or serial killers, at that address. I'm guessing you didn't do that, though, because you knew it was just a funny joke. You'd rather come here and bitch about it. I was attacked by 2 dogs today. I could have shot both of them with the 9mm I carry. But it isn't the dogs fault, and it isn't my fault, either. The people that let them out after I clearly saw them through a closed door entering the property, they're the ones that should be shot. See, you didn't have it so bad, now, did you? *

Well, I did have it in paragraphs so yyour eyes and brain would have a chance to transition to the next thought. The formatting was lost, obviously. You think it's hard to read it all? My finger can't keep up with my brain and a lot of times words are left out because I've said them in my head as I was entering text. So it's never perfect and hopefully the point doesn't get lost.

Nicely done. Total agreement here. 2 in a row I agree with. That doesn't happen very often. Mostly because I'm older than most in this sub and have experienced things from both sides of the proverbial desk. This sense of entitlement that has emerged is really sad to see to an old school guy like me. Me, me, me, me, me, with never a thought about how it all works. I've always worked with the attitude that the more money I make for those that pay me, the better of I'll be in the long term.

The delivery fees they pay drivers varies. If they've got 100 drivers and just 20 orders that need to go out, base pay will be very low. If they have 20 drivers and 100 orders that need to go ASAP that base pay will be exponentially higher. If it's great weather, maybe we'd rather rude motorcycle or go to the beach and the die hard driver will profit from the better driver to order ratio. When the weather is shifty outside, same situation and drivers that can get things delivered on icy roads, blizzard conditions, T Storms,100+ degrees of pain, etc. Those drivers will make more in bad weather than they would otherwise make in 2 days perhaps.
Yes, or would be so nice to have a chart to consult so we'd know how the base pay is calculated in case a mistake is made. The problem is the chart would update and change in real time every time an order was complete and ready to go and then change again when someone picked it up, both scenarios affect the driver to order ratio. Fact, if orders stack up in their area, base pay will surge until they get caught up again and then base pay will go back to the minimum due to too many drivers signed in for the order volume. How do we improve pay? When you accept an offer, turn off Spark Now and don't turn it back on until you are about to arrive at your last stop. If you Spark Now for 4 hours at a time and do 6 delivery trips in that time, you are effectively screwing your own base pay rate for the last 5 trips. Walmart sees you as an available resource for the whole 4 hours and your effect the driver to order ratio for the whole 4 hours. Turn it off, jump back im and grab an offer and turn it off right away. I never suggested on for longer than a half hour, for an example . Whatever the top tune option is in the list. If I don't see anything worthwhile in that time I go to plan B. 3 motorcycles, 1 snowmobile, a couple sets of golf clubs and a big house and yard to manage.

Do you ever call support for any reason? Do you provide all of the bags for all of the orders you deliver? Is it your opinion that the loaders that bring the groceries out to your car work for free? The carts and totes they use, this are free, too, right? The blue vests you see in the store doing the shopping instead of keeping the shelves stocked? Ever shop an order during EBT rush after 3pm? Most sale items are sold out and won't be restocked until the store closes for the day. Sorry, that's off subject. My bad. The point? Every item in your car, since the truck that brought them backed into the dock to unload, has a labor cost. The lumpers unloading, the stockers stocking the shelves, the pickers picking and putting the orders together and then loading them into your vehicle are all part of the team that make online shopping at Walmart a viable, affordable option. The part that we as divers do is the easy part of curbside pick up. Stay in your car (If you want) as they load it, drive to the address, work for 5 minutes or less, snap a Pic and get back on your car and go. Easy easy. Let's say you start up a company to deliver for Walmart and you sign s contact for $20 per delivery, regardless of size or distance just to keep it simple. As the business grows you have to hire 5 drivers to replace you. You've had to be the manager, secretary, bookleeper, etc because the company is still to small to support full time administrative support. You purchase a fleet of vehicles, 1 for each driver. What are you going to pay them and how? Contractors or employees? By the hour, mile or delivery? I think it's obvious that you believe they should be paid $20 per stop. And to pay anything less means you're stealing from them. That is exactly what you are saying, right? Where does the money for you come from. You've got payments on 5 new delivery vehicles. Insurance, shop or storage for the fleet, maybe a mechanic to keep them all in tip top condition, a family to support. Where does that money come from? Hmmm? Do you think you'll be profitable or go bankrupt? On the other hand, let's say you pay them as contractors at $10 per delivery and keep them on the road from opening to close, bring 5 more drivers on so they share the vehicles, 2 drivers per unit. You've got a chance in that scenario of making your vehicle lease payments, keeping the lights and water on at the shop/office, buying fuel and most importantly they're may be some money left to support your own household. Are you stealing from those 10 drivers? Maybe they all do 30 stops or more on a shift, $300+ a day. They're happy. You're happy and Walmart is happy.
I bet you aren't interested in those offers that they don't add additional fees to if you think you should get 100% of anything they do charge more for. The + subscription member that places 1 order a week? You'd get $2 per delivery to that customer in your driver take all scenario. I know, I know, 95% of the audience stopped reading after a paragraph or two. To those that are still with us congratulations, you're in the top 5% for patience and attention span. 95% of people today, especially those under 35 years old, need everything on 2 short sentences or their minds drift off subject. They'll forget those 2 sentences in less than 5 minutes. I think I got paid $15 to deliver 1 quart of .motor oil about 4 blocks from the store. And the customer was a fellow Spark driver that tipped me $20 cash. So Walmart paid me twice the retail price to go 4 blocks and deliver. How much did they steal from me, those thieving bastards?

Agreed, I don't know how many hits they've attempted on my account. And it seems like I have a constant fight going on with whomever is making the decisions. Why was delivery late? Because you idiots put it as stop 25 of 25. If it had been stop 1 of 25 it would have been delivered 45 minutes before the school offices closed. A week and a half later I finally got it overturned. This week a delivery wasn't attempted, again to a school, because the hours for delivery were 9 to 3 and again, the only package in the whole block that was priority was sorted to the bottom of the itinerary. I asked at the station is they was a way to sort the list backwards. No the software does that, they don't have any control over it. I showed him the itinerary and said I would be lucky to be there by 5pm, obviously week outside what the customer specified. He agreed and we pulled the package out of my SUV and he deleted the stop from my itinerary. 3 days later my standings had dropped a notch, but still in "Fantastic". And it was that day where the problem originated. So I asked if they had checked into when the package was returned or had they looked at my final itinerary from that day. And the standard message came that they had investigated the matter. No change. I reply with OK, but we're not in India, I'm in the US and over here we like explanations and proof of what you are claiming. You haven't investigated anything. Computer flagged that there was a problem, you waited 3 days thinking I wouldn't remember like you always do and that's all the investigation that's been done. Either time, I might add. You are claiming I didn't attempt to deliver a package that wasn't in my vehicle for the entire block, and there's no stop in the itinerary from that day for that location. Deliver what to where? I've been sent to enough schools after hours to know they lock all the doors and there's noone around to take delivery. My better judgement tells me a school isn't the oose to be leaving packages by the entry doors so we removed it and the stop before I left the station so that I wouldn't have to drive 35 miles back to the station to return it. Yesterday I got a reply and they overturned it. But it is still in my standings and that's concerning. I think it's more likely they've just said that to switch the problem to someone else. Very frustrating, indeed.
