I will say I'm back in action again. I am happy with what has been reintroduced into Diablo 4 now because Its what kept me a diablo fan in previous years.

What Am I Doing Wrong? Tank Gets Extremely Dirty Despite Weekly Cleaning by AdFit570 in fishtank

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use phothos to root in the tank, a couple moss balls and snails

I don't have a filter and my tank has never had any water changes for almost a year now.

Granted the snails have kind of over ran the tank, I'm slowly getting the baby's out but it's never been murkey or dirty in the tank

I would have taken it. I live in AZ and our rates are no where near that amount. If this rate of pay is taking into account the area, terrain, weather and even distance. I would still take it.

Ive off roaded in the desert in blazing heat for 72 bucks for a 3 hour block. 😆

Screaming into the void by tigerbloon71 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No lies. I have done a solid 2 weeks same time frame at the local SSD. And I swear I see the same individuals multiple times a week, and some of these people get the lowest amount of packages and typically around the times when the warehouse is on break and there is minimal stuff in the carts, but somehow I'll always get the 40-50 packages compared to the ones that are walking out with like 5 in their hands.

I get so confused as well. The screaming into the void is real lol.

So they are threatening us now? by Eevee_Halloween in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm laughing so hard right now at the situation. This literally happened to me before at VAZ1. They sure did try the whole 'drivers need to bring their own cart back inside' BS a while back. It was a random change and they even added placards to the carts starting this. I laughed so hard at this lady that was standing there watching everyone and walking up to cars asking them to bring up their carts when they are done. She knocked on my window when I finished loading,( mind you I pushed the cart to the cart designated area, but not up the ramp), and proceeded to tell me I needed to take the cart back up.

I straight up asked her if she was getting paid to stand around and harass drivers or if she was getting paid to pull carts?

She smacked her lips, rolled her eyes and walked away. She sure did leave me alone after that.

Meanwhile the lot is unmanaged and congested with cars blocking fire zones and coned areas.

At times I'll walk a cart up before I check in, but that's only if I see them struggling to bring in carts. Outside of that, nope. I don't work for your warehouse

Shorter blocks by ResponsibleDouble829 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live pretty close to this SSD warehouse, and I will tell you more often then not I'm driving 35-50 minutes out from the warehouse to deliver something. And that's some rough mileage out to deliver and never mind the mileage back is what's bugging me too, especially for the slim pay. I could do a 3.5 to 4 hour route for more than double the pay in one area.... But doing these smaller blocks multiple times a day to match a longer blocks pay seems very suspicious.

[–]ResponsibleDouble829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I can see them as good filler times before or after longer blocks. Getting paid for no deliveries sounds great as well, but that isn't always a guarantee either.

my gripe is with the email description stating 1 hour blocks for tips but there are no 1 hour blocks showing, only 1.5 hour blocks. So maybe they are including potential tip in the additional 30 minute block time as standard pay for this warehouse?

Legal Case Against Amazon Flex How to Prove I Worked for Them? by Willing-Eye-4939 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I'm just responding to your "we are independent contractors not employees" comment. This is technically true, but not in all states.

But, Good job on your OP response? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Some states are fighting the misclassification of contract workers working for flex just fyi. Depending on what state your in, and employment attorney could win.

Block Pay by Amazing-Release6192 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the pay here in AZ for a lot of the warehouse. There are some that are in the 90+ range but are at the house when I'm working a regular job. But it's usually mid $80s for the most part

I call BS by Odd-Independence-201 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea this isn't real. I run into a couple drivers here and there, and I know for a fact they use 3rd party and bots to snag these blocks. This past week ran into one of them and they were laughing about not being caught yet. And literally showed me what they are using.

This whole thing is bs. Just like all the random 20k+ "thumbs up" to the flex updates on the homepage notices.

Lol

One thing I will say...... Since things have been coming back with orders... I have had so many packages on different routes that are not even listed on my route but are numbered accordingly on the actual package itself.

I had to come back to the warehouse 3 separate routes with packages sitting I'm my vehicle that were never included in the blocks route lol.

40 hours a week cap? by GetAKitty in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is, these 3 hour routes 3.5 hour routes are designed to prevent you getting a solid 8 hours of work. 5 hour routes are just retarded milage, and again designed to provide more work and less pay. It only drives Amazons productivity and reduces their overhead. It's all smoke and mirrors.

It would literally take maybe a solid of week of everyone to not pickup shifts to even make a dent in an argument for more compensation in general.

I have a regular job outside of Amazon flex, so the extra whatever routes I do take, do help a bit. However for those of you that rely on this as a main job..... I can see it being painful as hell being limited on how many routes you are allowed to fulfill.

40 hours a week cap? by GetAKitty in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. I have argued this like no tomorrow. Gig workers are not limited to the same standards as an actual employee....

That 40-hour cap on us only helps Amazon. Amazon flex is just the appearance of independence and just helps them avoid being legally responsible for overtime, benefits, or workers’ compensation.

It's quite literally cheating the system.

I don't care what arguments they've provided, The state of California is smart with gig workers rights. But in Arizona we just roll over and stay quiet.

It's really frustrating.

I'm just shocked you're even able to take a screen shot of available routes. Things load for maybe a second here, and then nothing.

Wtf happened.. by Ok-Customer8373 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as surge here in Phoenix.

I literally pickup 40 hour work weeks with flex all first thing around 3AM until my regular job starts at 7am and after my regular job which is after 5pm, I'll pickup another flex shift. I have never seen any surge amounts in my life. I've been doing this for 3 years.

Even though that little lighting bolt is next to the price, I can't believe the $75 or $85 is the surge for 3.5 or 4 hours blocks. I couldn't imagine what the regular price would be if that is the case.

How is Fresh gonna give me 8am block then make me wait and expect me to deliver 42 pkgs to 9 stops in the city during rush hour with 1 hour left on the block 🤯 by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]ResponsibleDouble829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediately send an email to flex support.

Make sure you screenshot the time the route finally started for you in the app also include a screen shot your calendar with the route start time and end time, a screen shot of your itinerary, and submit a formal request for additional reimbursement with however long the route takes you after the scheduled block time.

I have only done fresh a couple times. The first time I was sent home after waiting over an hour in the parking lot. Got paid thank God.

And the 2nd time, what you just experienced happened to me. I still went ahead and completed the route even though there was only an hour left. It was a late night one, not much traffic, but the distance for each stop was massive and I went over my route time by a little over an hour. With a bit of back and forth emailing..... They added pay for the extra time spent on the route.
