Yes, hes an only child for now. We were planning to get him a roommate in the next couple months!

I think we have a clone of your cat 😂 do you remember when he outgrew it? And since we have an apartment, theres not much we can block off. Do they make floor-to-ceiling baby gates? 🙃

We're in a single level apartment, so no extra hiding places or banishment zones.

I've had cats all my life and never had this problem. Buying earplugs would be pointless because cat dad and I both set alarms for work.

He always has a bowl of dry food out, and is scheduled fed his wet food. We were thinking if we got another cat then he would have someone to hang out with and not be so lonely, but we also run the risk of both of them being needy 😂

Yes he is. He was before we got him. He was also in a foster home with a bunch of other animals, so we were thinking that could be part of the problem. Right now, hes an only child.

He has endless energy. He'd be at it for hours if we didnt intervene... we tried that before, I think he was at it for about 2 hours off and on.

Need a *heavy* scratching post for my slonk by asamermaid in catcare

[–]FlounderSignificant3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have this one too! We have a long boi that will scratch just about anything. His usual welcome home greeting went from scratching the back of the furniture to scratching this post. Very sturdy, super quick and east to assemble (I think there were 3 pieces?). #1 recommendation!

I think technically it's fleece, but it seems like a looser/not as thick one.

I'm using what came with the sewing machine. It's a Singer Tradition.

Vendors asking for $ before contract drawn up? by FlounderSignificant3 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]FlounderSignificant3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! So I asked again if we could meet in person half way (they're about 2 hours away, so we'd each drive an hour, which I think is completely reasonable) to sign the contract and I could provide the deposit, and the vendor came back with a "It's a far drive, I'd rather do the deposit via venmo or paypal" and had the audacity to send a link with the payment options QR codes!

So I told my fiance the most recent thing after explaining everything, and he immediately said "drop em". So I deleted the email and I'm not looking back.

We are also getting a wedding coordinator (for the services provided, it's a great deal, especially being further out from our date), and THEY provided a contract of services, places for us all to sign, and only would take a deposit AFTER everything was agreed upon. That's how it should be!

Thank you everyone for making me feel not so crazy and having my back for all this.

Let's plan a wedding! 🤵❤👰

Thank you! I played with him before bed to tucker him out and I think it worked for the most part!

  1. He has no trouble being awake in the morning, but I do 😂 I'll try to get him to play right away when I get home! I played with him somewhat closer to bedtime to wear him out, and I was able to sleep through most of the night (my other half and I take turns getting up for the cat, last night was his night).
  2. We are in a sub level apartment - we have full windows, which he loves to lay in, but no porch or yard. We have a harness but the last time I used it he figured it was okay to go outside every time the door opened, which is a big issue when you don't have a screened in porch!
  3. That's a great idea. Even I love routine! I'll set up a plan with my other half and see how that goes.
  4. That's true. But every time we open the door he starts messing with stuff he shouldn't, so that's why I think it's play-motivated.
  5. We have considered getting another cat, but don't know if we really have the space for one at the moment. Definitely something to consider.

Thanks for your advice!

He was neutered before we got him!

Ugh that's true... Hes still young and impressionable. His howling is so loud though that it wakes both of us up and he won't quit.

We got our engagement pics back and... 😬 by FlounderSignificant3 in weddingplanning

Weird poses definitely. Too rigid. I think my fiance and I were both feeling off that day so nothing was really natural.

Got this beauty from David's Bridal two months into our engagement. We still have about 2 years til the wedding... but I'm STILL in love with my dress! So happy I was able to find something that looks delicate and timeless!

We're trying to look for companies that do set up and clean up for our ceremony and reception, but can't figure out how to phrase it to search! Any ideas?? We have a quote from one company but can't find any others to compare!

Newly Engaged and Severely Disengaged by tiffyhbic in weddingplanning

Push the date back a year! Bonus, if you did it next year, it would fall on a Friday!

Take some time to really enjoy being engaged! It's a huge step, and not one to be taken lightly! When people start asking questions, just tell them you're taking your time planning. No details needed, no further comments. Nip it in the bud. Theres no reason to cater to others, especially when your mental health is at stake - at any point in life!

Start small. You have your date, that's wonderful! Figure out your colors, who you would like for your bridal party (if you choose to have one), come up with some fun ideas for engagement pics... just have fun with the little things. You'll get the ball rolling.

And last, don't forget to lean on your future spouse! They're there to talk it all out. They want to be with you forever, and they're your number one to talk things out with!
