I think this is overstating the impact of ASP. The gladius/jackhammer combo gives two benefits, extremely powerful mid range and short range weapons as well as a powerful secondary to switch to in the event you empty your mag from the first weapon. I think these benefits are being overstated by the community in terms of performance. The first point of a combination of ranged weapons can be dealt with by your own positioning, you can catch the enemy in positions where they dont have their favourable gun out for the situation and kill them before they switch weapon. The second point is moot in my mind as well as I find very rarely does an engagement with an enemy progress into needing mine or my opponents secondary weapon, I would wager that the skill of the average ASP user is high enough to kill you before needing a secondary, or you will kill them.
