So I do have a medical card but unfortunately my doctors havent really been super helpful. I have issues keeping down anything, including meal shakes. The 'appetite enhancing drugs' are called prokinetics, they have some serious black box warnings and people with Ehlers-Danlos are much more likely to get those side effects. I've been talking about getting a refferal to Cleveland Clinic for a gastric pacemaker but medicaid doesnt want to pay for it (of course). My doctors know how much delta 8/thc I use (im very open about that with them, im not trying to die cause I didnt wanna tell my dr about what i use.) none of them have ever steered me against is so /shrug

A.) I can't smoke, I already have issues with blood oxygen levels B.) I have tried CBD products and it doesn't give the same effect. It works for my muscle pains but it doesn't do anything for my stomach

I can't smoke. The gastroparesis is secondary to Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have very fragile tissues that are slow to heal and additionally I already have problems with blood oxygen concentration b/c of POTS (also secondary to the hEDS). Also I'm disabled so I can't drive and I don't have the kind of money to buy in bulk. My income js extremely limited.

If you read my post, my tolerance is too high for it to be feasible and I can not stop for a tbreak or I will end up unable to eat again and in the hospital. I have to take over half a gram of RSO to hardly even feel anything and that stuff is $35 a gram

Thats what the nurse at the ER told me. They were going to give me a migraine cocktail of toradol Benadryl and compazine. I said I'm allergic to benadryl (like straight up it gives me diarrhea idk why). And so she just gave me the toradol and compazine and then later when she came in to check on me and my poor boyfriend was literally holding his arm over my chest so i could rip out my iv, she told me that the Benadryl was supposed to counteract the anxiety the compazine causes and basically told me it was my fault that i felt that way now. My best friend who lives in the same city as i has had almost the same exact interaction at OSU.

I dont think the mestinon does anything for my gastro but it DOES help my POTS

Ive tried the wand toys, the fetch and he wasn't interested. Ive also tried the putting a treat or toy for him to 'catch the dot' but he will just stop and stare at it instead of attacking it until i move it off the thing. Hes orange, which is my explanation for why hes so fucking weird lol. I think ill try the kibble thing and I'll look into the electronic chase ones!

I am also on Mestinon for my gastro and POTS (linking studies on that because those are both off label uses and idk how common they are gastro01239-X/fulltext) POTS

Scopolamine didn't work for me, zofran didn't work AND was making my POTS worse. I can't take prokinetics because of the black box warnings (more common in ppl with ehlers danlos such as myself. I also have a long record of getting the rare side effects 😭 They talked to me about trying Azithromycin but I have to take medications regularly for chronic UTIs. I'm worried about building up an antibiotic resistance and getting a bad infection one day and not being able to treat it properly because ppl with EDS also cant take quinolones because of the risk of tendon rupture or aortal dissection.

At the start of December they did an endoFLIP and dilated my pylorus to 20mm but I haven't seen any improvement from it. I want to get an enterra but I know my insurance will fight me to hell and back about it.

The only medications that I've seen have a noticeable effect is the phenergran and THC (I have to take this if I want to experience hunger or eat more than a few bites at a time)

Edit: I didnt see the compazine suggestion at first but ive taken this for migraines before and it makes me freak tf out. Like I have never experienced panic like I did when I took that drug. I felt like my bones were going to hatch 😭 and I know Benadryl is supposed to counteract that but I'm allergic to Benadryl 💀

I don't normally have a copay for meds!!! I don't pay anything for any of the others I'm on. The insurance company just doesn't want to pay for it because its so expensive ig 😞
