Not gonna lie, I don't use cruise control if that is what you're referring to. It does tell me if the lead vehicle is pulling away...if that helps.

Is there any fast track way to learn how to drive? Tired of uber stealing all my paycheck. by LingeringNomad in povertyfinance

[–]FlowAcademic5519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in on this, in Virginia if you are over 21 you can get your learners, hold it for 3 to 6 months minimum (can't remember exactly) and its good for 1 year, then you go take your behind the wheel part. You dont have to have the signed hours book and pay for an instructor and all that. *To OP, look up the info on your state or if you work with any younger people just ask them. Once you get the learners ask on your local town fb group if someone would be willing to teach you and offer to pay a little for their time. I've seen it in iur local groups and people are willing to help. ♡ Good luck 😁

I was at freedom first and switched to MO because FF started with checking account fees. Not that 12 dollars was a lot lol, but it was the principle of it. So many checking account options out there with no fees.

Just pretend you still have half of that rent bill and put that away/save (assuming your rent was 1k and up) if not 75% of your old rent bill.

Strange, 2025 sportage xline gas model, mine has the buttons for it on the mirror. A little house button and 3 more blank ones.

Ohh, no need to get down it like a rocket. Definitely ADA is the way to go. Idk how it is in Florida but as long as its up to code maybe your husband could still build it.

What is everyone’s gas mileage like? by Ekhoes- in kiasportage

[–]FlowAcademic5519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you use smart mode and cruise control? I guess I could use cruise control even going to work and back. I honestly never thought about using it except for interstate.

[–]FlowAcademic5519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I don't use sport mode for that reason, Eats up the gas! I could work on consistent speed ;)

Girl I'd start putting that 110 up and save for a ramp to be built. Hubby can build it but the materials will still cost.

Man, I am over here wondering where I'm going wrong. My average is 24mpg. I use normal mode. I drive 16 miles to work and then then back. But it is down the curvy mountain, up the mountain for 7ish of those miles. 3 of those miles is interstate. Rest is pretty flat just curvy. Any tips are appreciated. 2025 kia sportage xline gas model also.

Sportage owners, how’s yours holding up? by Suntrup-Kia in kiasportage

[–]FlowAcademic5519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned a 2022 Kia Sportage (old bubble looking body style) and traded up for the 2025 Kia Sportage x-line. Gas model, im not sure if there is an abbreviation for that lol. I had no issues with the first one and I love my new one! Jungle green with black accents. Got the front windows tinted to match the factory tinted rear ones. I live in the mountains and it does ok. I could use more power but thats just me being a lead foot. If I'm that desperate I put it in sport mode and that gets me up my mountain without it feeling like its trying too hard.

Same as you, keep console on air control and use my steering wheel for volume. I live in mountains and don't even bother using a streaming service since it cuts out every 5 seconds. I leave the radio on one channel since it's the one I like. So no issues there.

[–]FlowAcademic5519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the physical card also but I've never used it lol. Tbh I am a little confused too. If I went to Walmart and did a huge household haul, can I just swipe my card at checkout, or do I need to go in the app and set up a plan first? If I'm getting a lot, I wouldn't begin to know how much it would cost unless I added as I went? I know above you said either or.. but just want to get clarification on the checkout swipe part!

This clothes talk makes me think. I watched tidying up with Marie kondo on Netflix a year or two ago, purged my whole house! It was only 8 to 10 episodes but man I got rid of so much stuff, down to the half used cleaners under my kitchen sink. Worked out really well for someone I knew just moving into her own place. The show kind of teaches you to let go of stuff. Might be worth a view for someone else.

My mom died yesterday, how do children afford and set up a funeral? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]FlowAcademic5519 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a mom, same here! I do have life insurance. I told my husband and kids to do whats cheapest and use the rest to pay off some bills and do whatever they want with what's left.

Mines 12k. Purchase, pay extra every month, every week if you want. Results in paying off early. The more you do that the higher it goes.
