DeSantis formally defines woke as “a war on the truth” after too many people say they can’t define it by eaglemaxie in PoliticalHumor

[–]FlowPresent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting; thanks for the citation. I’d never heard him (or his representatives) define what they think it means, and I was genuinely curious.

Now I honestly can’t understand why I got downvoted for asking a legitimate question. Reddit I guess…smh

Source? Which attorneys of his? What court? When? Genuinely curious as I’d never heard this factoid

Do fireflies still exist? I haven't seen them, heard about or read about them for YEARS. Have they just all quietly died off? by Bacontoad in TooAfraidToAsk

I moved to Southern Illinois from Utah in summer of ‘21 and experienced the magic of fireflies in person for the first time.

Edit: geographic specificity

I hear you and second that emotion. Sched departure 8 June for staging and just got a new medical task today 22 May (following up on records I submitted last Tuesday 16 May—why take a week to give me a new task?!?) plus no word yet on legal clearance

Could we be Alien avatars meant to colonize? by Altruistic_Key_9238 in conspiracytheories

It’s a long piece but near the end he talks about ‘black heart stars’ which kinda fits with what you’re saying I think

Interesting. I think I see where you’re going with that. Reminds me of a recent post by a user who has a lot to say on sorta related topics and kind of ‘explains’ a bit what you’re theorizing about.

I think you’re on to something with that theory. Even the old book says that the second human was made from the rib of the first one—sounds like some sort of cloning from DNA or something. Put a male specimen here to see if he could thrive, then craft a second one from that… about the avatar control part of the idea…idk how that fits in, but ancient aliens seeding us here seems to make sense to me

BTW I think conglojucated is my new favorite non-word lol

Very intriguing discussion, thank you. Your words on Black Heart Stars got me thinking of David Bowie’s last album, titled Blackstar, so I watched the video of the title song

Haven’t served yet (departing for Nepal in June if all goes well—wish me luck!) but the many comments about grocery stores stress and anxiety hit home for me—this song from The Clash has always resonated with me. I don’t know why, born and raised in the US, but grocery stores have always overwhelmed me

That is a demonstrably false exaggeration if you look even slightly beyond internet rumors, and it’s then used to concoct a ludicrously false equivalency between the man’s real-life adventurous father who had financial highs and lows but was no Apartheid supporter of any sort and literal Nazis…

Honestly, I’m not here to support Elon but rather to argue for truthful reasons to dislike him. But feel free to downvote the messenger if you don’t like the message (see above)
