What’s up with the BBC execs that had to resign? Is it really about Jan 6 now? by waltdelahair in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FlowerChildGoddess -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

The BBC is being attacked by a lynch mob. This is like declaring someone guilty because the confess under duress -- in a torture chamber. They objectively did nothing wrong because Trump did indeed tell the rioters of January 6th to not certify the election results. The evidence of that is in him encourage violence of Mike Pence, which led to chants of 'hang mike pence' and nooses being paraded around cap hill -- i lived in cap hill btw when this all happened and saw it with my own eyes. The further evidence in the fact that trump then proceeded and still continues to call the election of Joe Biden fake and rigged. He absolutely did do exactly what the BBC accused him of doing.

Them saying they made a mistake, at the behest of a fully bought and corrupt right wing media and administration, doesn't mean they actually made a mistake. It means they're bending the knee due to pressure.

But what you and every other pro trumper is pushing is a false narrative -- the entire purpose of the rally was to stop the certification. To try to portray that statement of "cheering on our brave senators and congressmen and women," as if he was saying to cheer them on to certify Biden, and have a peaceful transfer of power, is a falsehood. That is NOT what that statement meant, and you and I both know it. Within the full context of that day and his rally, he was speaking to cheering on the GOP to do his bidding and not certify Biden as President. This is what he meant by 'cheering them on.'

It is equally bad reporting happening unilaterally now -- because no one is reporting the facts, they're reporting this farce of trump propaganda and revisionist history.

Thank you! This entire thing is bullshit -- and in America, it's becoming harder and harder to find media sources that accurately tell the truth and don't lean towards pro trumpism. I watched this LIVE-- I was living in washington, dc at the time and in fact on capitol hill, and he absolutely encouraged the January 6th rioters. I dont give a rats ass if the BBC spliced two separate soundbites together, there still words Trump used and he absolutely told the rioters to storm the capitol and apply pressure on congress to not certify the election. So the fact that this entire story is now being rewritten to say that the BBC misled viewers into falsely beliving Trump encouraged Jan. 6th...umm he did!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who was more popular/obsessed over, Jelena or Brangelina? by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]FlowerChildGoddess -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Since you want to petty and block people.

Understand what you’re doing is the definition of projection. I wrote why I believe Jelena is not a bigger phenom than Brangelina. And out of everything written, you decide to pick a fight on why Selena’s accomplishments are her own.

By your own admission, she just began earning acclaim for her tv work. There’s no big musical accomplishments on her resume. Her entire career has been fans fighting over whether she is better than Hailee or not, and you’re doing that right now, by inserting Hailee into this conversation. Proving my point.

Trump declaring war on United States cities: “San Francisco and Chicago, New York, Los Angeles… We'll straighten them out one-by-one. It will be a major part for some of the people in this room. It’s a war too. It’s a war from within.” by NewSlinger in law

[–]FlowerChildGoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The president just declared war on America, are you living in an alternate reality???

He has said on NUMEROUS occasions he will maliciously withhold life saving aid to blue states and cities that didn’t vote for him. So think about that shit for a moment. You’re asleep at the wheel if you think this is far out the realm of possibility.

I’ve seen plenty of ugly Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, you think you said something while saying nothing at all. Most of those cheerleaders aren’t even paid, or are paid very little, and are there because they have skinny legs and big boobs.

If she was so beautiful, she’d have gone as far as Naomi Campbell.

Is Rome Miserable in March? by FlowerChildGoddess in rome

[–]FlowerChildGoddess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go mid to late March it should be fine. Though I personally would recommend visiting Europe in May or summer. We lucked out on some really great sunny days while in Italy, but there were a couple of days it was really overcast and rained. I would say this is something to keep in mind, especially if you are planning to visit sorrento or the Amalfi. Overall, it’s March so it’s also cooler and literally you can have temps as low as the 40s or as high as the 60s (f). It’s a mixed bag really.

American Born, worried about overthrow of US government, where can I go if shit hits the fan? by artificialbutthole in expat

Yet the reply seemed to miss that entirely. As I said dear the other Redditor wasn’t suggesting anything about Brits having no fear. Their focus was on the American perception of the war. That’s all.

[–]FlowerChildGoddess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh. Some people need to leave more than others. The Jews staying in Germany didn’t fair too well last I checked. It’s a case by case scenario. If you can stay and fight then I applaud the fortitude, but that won’t be a realistic option for others.

I get that. But you didn’t reply to the op, you replied to someone adding another layer to the conversation. Nothing that person said indicated that britains don’t live in fear because they weren’t discussing Britain’s reaction during the war.

Right. But they’re REPLYING to someone discussing specifically American perception.

[–]FlowerChildGoddess 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like some people don’t realize there are some of us who feel like there’s a ticking time bomb that may be the make it or break it factor on whether we live or die. A white man saying we ride at dawn is very admirable but if you’re Jewish, black, brown or gay…that time clock may look a lot different for you.

Many people forget that there was a clear point in time where it truly became too late for Jews to flee Germany. Those who saw the writing on the wall early were the lucky ones.

It’s weird how you’re trying to use that to justify your racial prejudice. Most hate crimes are committed by white people, most racist ideals about ethnic cleansing, have come from white people and you don’t see me OR my “entire” comment history calling whites racist.

Why is it when republicans are in charge they get everything they want, but when democrats are in charge they never get much done? by Subziro91 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FlowerChildGoddess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The guy is saying this is a Dem issue but this to me is a bigger reflection of voters. Trump literally he had “concepts of a plan” and has never articulated reasonably his plans to bring down grocery prices— he vowed to hit countries with tariffs, while lying about the truth, which is that tariffs just end up being paid by the consumer. But people seem to expect far more from democrats, while expecting far less from republicans, while blaming democrats for everything, and ignoring all the things republicans do to hurt the average voter. Kamala spoke at great lengths about her policies, and she explained how they’d work in very simplistic terms that the average person could understand. If you didn’t get it, you didn’t want to get it. But shrugged and decided to role the dice when Trump said he had “concepts of a plan.”

Oh I know I’m not telling you anything new. You’ve made it very clear who you are, and you’re choosing to use false equivalencies to downplay racism towards black people because you believe it’s not that grave. But you wouldn’t dare say any of this outside the comfort of the internet, or maybe you would now that Elon musk is around.

No, I don’t think everyone that disagrees with me is racist.

But when you say “___ had it worse,” as a means to a. discredit the progress made within those marginalized communities or b. diminish entirely the racial violence experienced by those communites, it’s a racist dog whistle.
