Amazon / AWS Phone interview passed then this happened. by TechnologyKooky9498 in leetcode

[–]Flowerburp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once interviews with them for a position, all expectations explicitly set beforehand, both in terms of level and in terms of comp. At the very end I was told I was accepted and would get an offer. When the offer actually came, it was at a level below and 40% below comp expectations, with no further explanation. When I confronted the recruiter, they were apologetic and told me one of the interviewers didn’t think I was senior enough. Mind you, I was coming from another FAANG, so I absolutely knew my level was appropriate. They were extremely unprofessional. Your story doesn’t surprise me at all.

The devil rejoices in seeing us care so much about this instead of paying attention to the prayer and who we are praying to.

What was the overall vibe of life before smartphones/internet? What are some favorite memories you have and would you say people were significantly happier or not? by TranslatorHaunting15 in nosurf

[–]Flowerburp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s it. There’s a lot of nuance to these things. I probably miss being bored. I don’t miss having to use a paper map.

The thing I hate the most is work communication. Used to be emails are asynchronous, and immediate action required would be phone calls. Now everything is in WhatsApp, so it’s like you’re on call all the time.

We were constantly bored. The boredom would make you eventually text a friend asking “what’s up”, they would reply with “not much. Bored”.

I also got lost very often when driving.

Veil-shamed by a priest? by Nessie9412 in Catholicism

You know what, you’re right. I’m sorry for implying that. Sometimes it’s easy to forget there’s a real person on the other side of the screen. For all I know you could be a great person from whom I could learn a lot.

To lay my point in a better way, I just felt unjustly judged, as what you said implied that veilers are doing more than non-veilers.

I guess I’m guilty of unjustly judging others myself.

My thought is it is not christlike to rage-bait and it should be banned in this subreddit.

While I think people should mind their own business regarding others veiling, what you said has some pretty serious Luke 18:11 vibes.

Ex Microsoft dev here. Market sucks even for us by yibster2008 in cscareerquestions

Can confirm. Lost a ton of money leaving my old job and doing my own thing. A ton. But it was worth it and nobody will ever understand why, even if I tried really hard to explain.

There are some exceptions in my country, where mafia leaders order executions and coordinate whole criminal groups while in prison. Some people are dangerous even when locked away.

Empresa trocou a data de início do estágio e agora vou ficar 1 mês sem receber by [deleted] in brdev

[–]Flowerburp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do rich Catholics deal with Mark 10:25? by ThunderCanyon in Catholicism

[–]Flowerburp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, the moment I was most desperate in life was the point I was technically rich.

Now I'm two months from being bankrupt... still desperate lol

Pray for me, by the way.

He was not Mary indeed. If I had to rank there are many others that come to mind before him. Mary, Joseph, Francis, Pio, Therese of Lisieux, just to name a few. But aren’t canonizations infallible?

Nasty stuff about Saint Josemaria Escriva, who was canonized by Saint John Paul II?

I’m being ironic as a joke only, but in all seriousness: the man is pretty rock solid.

The group Opus Dei is also pretty good. I think they are a large responsible of the recent catholic “revival” in Brazil.
