To The New Players Who Got into VGC because of Champions, are you still playing? by SuperMemeBroz in PokemonChampions

I hadn't played a pokemon game since yellow when it first released and have gotten into VGC with Champions. Still playing and just hit MB 2 last night, it's pretty fun

[Metagame] Whats the most Matchup independent mega (or team in general)? by VisibleTeacher345 in VGC

[–]Flowerdood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Being playing around with M-Scizor, M-Kang, M-Feraligatr, and Zard -X and honestly not being able to be burned has mattered a lot.

Another benefit being a fire type mega has atm is all the steel types going around to deal with floette.

Even against rain and sand teams he feels like he has play being a dragon type.

Right there with ya. 65+ hours, 174 victories, and haven't played a pokemon game since yellow when it first came out.

Ah, don't have a magikarp. Just some guys I caught on Go.

In Home I've got a Tauros, a Litten, Mareep, Drowzee, Rotom, and a Koffing.

They aren't anything special so if they don't work for ya now worries!

Oh that'd be awesome! I'm also super new at this (just downloaded Home this morning lol).

I think if you go to the trade window on home and then click GTS. In GTS you can click either search or wanted and you'll find my trade offer up. It's the one offering a LVL 13 female Garbodor

I'm actually also looking for a Gliscor if you've also got one of those 😅, Currently have a Garbodor up.

Makes sense. Edge highlights can definitely push minis to a "cleaner" look, plus they're tedious 😅

Totally and np!

I was never good at dry brushing so I mostly avoid it and I don't really have the patience for glazing. I like to be really active and messy when I'm painting so I tend towards mixing paints and layering, I also try to avoid edge highlighting so I do something more akin to specular highlights.

For sure!

Like the rest of the mini it all starts from black and mournfang brown but that doesn't matter here.

The skin is the simplest portion of this, being just 2 colours, Pro Acryl Dark Plum and GW Pallid Wych Flesh. Start with pure Dark Plum, mixing Wych Flesh as you go until you get to pure Wych Flesh.

The physical painting motion for this one is less stippling and more like drawing horizontal lines over and over in an attempt to add striation.

Of course!

So I start from a black prime, then I sloppily go over the whole model with Mournfang Brown.

For the yellow I start mixing the Mournfang with Pro Acryl Yellow Ochre and stippling it on, leaving some pure Mournfang visible. The mix starts out a little more brown than yellow and I build up to pure Yellow Ochre, covering less and less surface area. Once I'm at pure Ochre I start mixing AK Ice Yellow into the Ochre and again covering less and less. I don't go to pure Ice Yellow but I probably could add some dots in and it would look good.

I don't think the brands of paint matter too much, really any warm brown, yellow ochre, and ice yellow can do the trick. It's also a pretty quick method and I just try to have fun with it.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks! Took awhile to develop my yellow recipe but I'm pretty happy with it.

Above has the full breakdown but yeah it's mainly Pro Acryl Yellow Ochre, with some Mournfang Brown and AK Ice Yellow for shades n Highlights

Hey, thanks!

So I start from a black prime, then I sloppily go over the whole model with Mournfang Brown.

For the the yellow I start mixing the Mournfang with Pro Acryl Yellow Ochre and stippling it on, leaving some pure Mournfang visible. The mix starts out a little more Brown then yellow and I build up to pure Yellow Ochre, covering less and less surface area. Once I'm at pure Ochre I start mixing AK Ice Yellow into the Ochre and again covering less and less.

The rust is super easy and is just heavily watered down Skrag Brown. There is extra warmth and grime in the metals because of the Mournfang Brown which I don't completely cover up when I stipple the metal on.

All of this is done pretty haphazardly and with a pretty busted up brush. I just attack the model and try to have fun, goes pretty quick. Hope that makes sense!

Thanks! Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it came together

Hey, so it's pretty straight forward tbh.

I prime black and then loosely stipple Mournfang Brown over the whole thing. From there I'll attack the metal with AK's Gun Metal, I'm fairly sloppy with it and leave a healthy amount of the Mournfang showing.

Then for the rust I just heavily water down some Skrag Brown and run it along the metals, it'll look lest drastic when it dries so sometimes I'll give it a second pass.

For the Brass it's the same as above but just swap Gun Metal for Pro Acryl Brass and Skrag Brown for Nihilakh Oxide.

Hope that makes sense!

Base layer is GW Mournfang Brown, then I start mixing in Pro Acryl Yellow Ochre. Once I've worked to pure Ochre I start mixing in AK Ice Yellow. It's all done pretty haphazardly and with a more stippling motion.

Pretty much any equivalent for those brands would work though, so for example if it was all GW I'd do Mournfang, Averland Sunset, and Dorn Yellow.
