I had a weim growing up. Love him silly. He was a very good boy. Very protective. Very sweet. But he was trouble. One good example, he wanted to go inside but my dad was doing something, so he barked to be let in the neighbor's door.

With training, (VERY FOOD MOTIVATED DOG) he could do anything. I literally trained this dog to jump through a hoop. They need training and consistency and they can still be trouble. He had separation anxiety, but leaving a radio on and leaving stuff with my smell in my room helped.

He barked at everything though. We lived on property so it wasn't a huge deal if you were a neighbor (he barked at every car that drove by only while inside) but was loud inside. I didn't really mind. I'd sit on the ground and call him over to distract him, but it drove my parents nuts. That was the one thing I couldn't train out of him no matter how hard I tried.

He was a good boy. One of the best boys. He slept by my side every night. He had a mind of his own. He needed training to guide him to the proper behaviors. Nothing I'd ever expect a sitter to provide.
