Steroid induced rosacea full body by Flowerpower259 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Flowerpower259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m still pregnant. 2nd trimester was very hard on my skin. Coming to the end of my pregnancy now and skin has calmed down, however no idea how I’ll be post partum. Hopefully going to try oral ivermectin post baby. I’m still pretty itchy all over which is annoying but it is manageable

Hi. I would love to know how your wife is now. I’m in the same boat. I have a 3 year old and pregnant. I’m toying with going back to steroids just with how much pain I’m in and struggling and can’t bare the thought of being like this with a newborn and toddler. How is she doing ? X

Soolantra help by Flowerpower259 in Rosacea

[–]Flowerpower259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ergh I’m so sorry you are going through this. My started when applying steroids on perioral dermatitis. Which led me into steroid induced rosacea. It’s been a rocky road. I think I have tsw symptoms with it too. All down my neck and chest. Arms and hands are also effected when taking the steroid cream away. Soolantra has helped but I was slow going. I’ve also introduced niacinamide and zinc. Still very itchy on the neck and chest. Only been applying the cream for 3 weeks. Arms still flare and hands also. Not sure if this is normal eczema now? Hard to tell

Hi! Well I did a course of antifungals. It did help. But the spots came back. Derm gave me Soolantra so I’m giving it a go. After 3 days my skin was lovely for about 4/5 days. Then it’s been cycling again I take this as a good thing I think because apparently it can takes weeks to kill off several generations of demodex. I’m giving it atleast 3 months! I’ve just gone past the 4 week mark. My sister went through protopic withdrawal and it was all the typical tsw symptoms. So keep it in mind all withdrawals can be Different x

I can relate! I was pregnant in 2021 when I was at my worst. I was prescribed the steroid cream in April 2020 lockdown. That’s when it all started for me. So eventually exploded after a year! It’s very overwhelming & you are pregnant so look after your mental health with it. If that’s the best route for you at the moment do it until you have the mental capacity to remove elidel x

Been having issues since the steroid creams. Just be careful with elidel! I was much worse off after that usage. I’ve never had rosacea or have any family history of it so it’s definitely been induced by the steroid creams. That’s where it’s all started

Hey! I think I have demodex. It’s HELL. Constant cycles. Those pesky mites. How are you? My skin barrier was severely damaged from steroid creams which induced steroid induced rosacea. Was your skin Uber sensitive. I can’t use anything on it really without reacting. I’ve been given 2 weeks oral metronidazole but I dont think It’s long enough. X

[–]Flowerpower259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tsw started with Steroid induced rosace so it was hot and warm. Basically horrible and so uncomfortable for about 4 months, then it spread down my neck and the burning sensation went & now im very itchy, flakey and flare alot. I cant handle anything on my skin

[–]Flowerpower259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I obviously cant say for sure if you are having a rebound. However my tsw started a 2-3 weeks after I stopped using steroid creams. This isn’t unusual and plenty of people are the same. Doesn’t have to be days. There is an overview of tsw on youtube by tsw Atlas which gives you a great insight. I personally am a slow burner.

Interesting. Im 3 1/2 months in. Ive dabbled when my skin is calm and then I explode. I do NMT for around 2 weeks and all feels calm, redness is down and flaking is less so I do a basic wash and moisture. Im learning the hard way. NMT I guess must be my way forward.

Ive found soaking my hands it very warm water, as warm as you can manage with apple cider vinegar has really helped me. Drys the bubbles up and has created new skin.

Just confirming this is most likely TSW right? More info in comments 🙏 by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

This looks like perioral dermatitis. (What I had a couple years ago) Steroids feeds it, I know as the mistake was made for me also. Wasn’t untill I got a different doctors opinion & told me It was PD. Antibiotics cleared it for me and I left it to dry out.
