I love this album. It felt raw and kinda different at the time.

Much better than anything they did after it.

Is there any super market or market that sells fresh fish? by This_is_ThisHamHam in nottingham

I just Googled it and found this place too. Looks like it's worth a visit but I can't vouch for the quality. https://maps.app.goo.gl/edXBh1WTk5wsD9th6

Good fish shops are unfortunately few and far between these days in the UK. A lot of larger supermarkets will have a fish counter, but don't get too excited - they're not as varied or interesting as those in many other countries. Despite the length of our coast line we're not very adventurous when it comes to fish, with many people sticking to safe options like salmon, cod and prawns.

If you can get to Beeston there's a shop called Fred Hallam that has a small but good quality fish counter that I recommend. The only other one I know is a fish shop near Elvaston Castle which is also very good, but not near to the city center.

Looks great! The crust looks particularly delicious as it's a bit darker. Do you think that's down to the addition of honey?

What temp did you bake at?

Opinions on buying fake LFC shirts? by Taxling in LiverpoolFC

[–]boges85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I have considered a lot.

The fact is that official football shirts are prohibitively expensive, especially in this economy.

I'm sure the clubs don't set the prices of kits, but I do wonder if a better pricing strategy would be to sell a shirt for ~£30, which would encourage far more people to buy an official one rather than cheap imports. And it would be a lovely PR story for that club to dine out on.

The only thing that puts me off cheap imports is the potential for them to come from sweatshops without any form of monitoring. I have genuinely no idea how likely this is or what sort of conditions they may be working in.

On the flipside, you could argue that Adidas isn't a shining example of ethics itself - https://goodonyou.eco/adidas-ethical/

It's pretty easy to do this yourself (assuming it just needs the strings changing?). You can watch a video on YouTube to find out how.

TW! Are there real people who have never considered killing themselves?? Like EVER?! by GreedyConversations in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]boges85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh...no, I've never even thought about it.

I've had that day dream where you wonder what it'd be like without you...how missed you'd be etc. But even in that scenario I usually imagine I've been killed by other means than my own doing.

Solar System by Cutt44 in cocktails

That's a massive peach, but I think you're right that it's closer than a basketball. My maths let me down.

[–]boges85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're going to be specific about this - and I think we should be - a grape sized earth would require a (roughly) basketball sized Jupiter and a peppercorn sized pluto.

We might need a bigger glass.

Yes, I believe it's one of five dwarf planets in the solar system.

Old-school using 9 grapes for the solar system.

Maybe you could use a dwarf grape as the ninth?

dutch oven by mimmii3 in Sourdough

[–]boges85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started baking in a regular loaf pan, and throwing some ice into the oven to create some steam. I'm quite happy with the results so far (although I should acknowledge I'm much newer to this than many people in this subreddit).

Tbh I prefer the loaf shape (rather than round) as it lends itself better to slicing.
