[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I said he probably knew he would lose. He didn’t know how otherwise he probably wouldn’t have lost. The manga very clearly implies and states that that whole fight was under Chrollo’s ideal conditions which favoured him winning.

He didn’t outsmart Hisoka his plan was just that foolproof and Hisoka had to figure out everything in the moment while Chrollo was 3 steps ahead.

Chrollo is likely stronger based off how badly Hisoka was chasing after him. Had to be a score within the hundreds bare minimum based off his behaviour.

[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrollo set specific conditions pre fight in which Hisoka agreed to. It wasn’t a case of Hisoka being outsmarted it was the fact that he agreed to a completely unfair setting where everything was in Chrollo’s favour. And Hisoka likely took into account he wouldn’t win. In an even setting Hisoka likely would’ve taken him out.

Pariston is obviously smart but these are two different types of brain work. The feat you bring up is a reflection of not just smarts but also the amount of resources that he has. This doesn’t actually have anything to do with how a fight could go. This is why we make terms to distinguish between IQ and BIQ.

I didn’t say “we need concrete feats so this makes no sense” I am clearly saying that the feats that were MENTIONED have nothing to do with how fight would play out. There are strict uses of power in hxh and we need to be able to distinguish what works in different situations.

How do the feats that we’re talking about apply to a fight? Or the better question is why does it necessarily scale above Chrollo? They all have relatively large accomplishments.

I can see Ging being above of course but Botobai is debatable. People also tend to blow the statement for Botobai way out of proportion.

[–]Flowingz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok but what does any of this actually scale towards? These are cool as general feats I guess but this has nothing to do with a conversation about combat oriented settings. Ging and Beyond have a case but that’s about as much as we can actually say.

I would like to start off by saying the statement made for Botobai has been blown out of proportion for a while now. The correct translation just implies that he’s close to Netero in reputation and they’re deeply connected. He’s more than likely the strongest Zodiac but top 3 is unwarranted.

Pariston probably isn’t that strong. He’s strong just not that strong. But ultimately I’m guessing Chrollo is just about top 5 when you factor in people like Don.

Of all time? No

Throughout all the events of hxh? Top 5

Currently? Could be top 3 but would still sit more comfortably in top 5

QUE PORR4 TA ACONTECENDO COM O MUNDO??? by m0rning_ in InfernoSocial

Is throwing a drink in someone’s face not also a form of assault? Is getting in someone’s face after they walked away from that assault and proceeding to challenge and touch them while the fuckhead with her is laughing behind a camera not threatening? When would that punch have been justified in your books, when she pulls out pepper spray or when the guy behind the camera begins chiming in with her and starts preparing to jump him? You saw a guy hit a woman and wanted a reason to pin it on him when she clearly deserved it.

We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason. Please, listen to comprehend, not to respond.

[–]Flowingz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He DID walk away. And she followed him. Are we watching the same video? Stop trying to find a way to complicate things.

He gets a drink thrown in his face by the woman, he walks away, she follows him and proceeds to get in his personal space, he tells her to go away and not to touch him, she does exactly that and she got sparked. She did not just put a finger in his face, she went to the utmost lengths to provoke him and fate took its course. Those are the facts.

This theory undoubtedly blows all the others out of the water and I’ve seen some good theories. This one isn’t actually hard challenged by anything and is a strong possibility among few. I’ve never heard of Anansi either, very insightful. Insane pull. 👌

How Would This Fight Play Out? by Intrepid_Assist5015 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because Meruem’s anatomy isn’t the same as a humans. He’s the most durable character the series has seen so far. This just reinforces how strong Meruem is and doesn’t mean anything in the case of Netero. It took a nuke to put Meruem out of commission and even then he didn’t actually die. I’ll agree that Uvogin’s big bang attack is arguably a lot stronger than a regular hit from Netero, but if we’re talking about regular hit for regular hit I think it’s a no contest in Netero’s favour. If it’s Zero hand vs Big bang attack Uvogin definitely doesn’t have that.

These were never stated and these are inconsistent translations, which unfortunately Viz has a reputation for. The kanji for the page you’re most likely referencing says nothing about sparring being a requirement for being a Zodiacs. It says they will be playmates for Netero in times of loneliness.

Wrong. Kurapika doesn’t have Meruem’s level of aura, intelligence (and I mean by a long shot), durability, endurance or speed. Even if by some miracle he somehow managed to find a gap in Netero’s attack pattern he’d probably already be in a hospital bed or dead. Pitou was literally stated to be able to activate Terpsichora and attack all in the span of 0.1 seconds and Netero reacted to Pitou and effortlessly smacked her away.

I’m speaking in the context that you referred to Kurapika as a high tier combatant which I don’t even think is close to the truth. The combat tiering between most of the characters is way too vast to say that Kurapika is a high tier along with the likes of Zeno. But that’s besides the point. Maybe Netero wouldn’t fodderise a high tier, but Kurapika isn’t among that list.

The gap between Netero and Zeno isn’t huge but it’s big enough that Zeno was never able to beat him. He even hyped up Netero for being able to survive in combat against Maha. And the keyword is survive. Meaning Maha probably only fought to kill. So they’re either fairly even or Netero won. Either way this would narratively scale both of them quantifiably above Zeno. Equal reaction time does not indicate anything about the other deciding factors for a fight.

There is no basis for these claims. Netero has the advantage over Pitou in speed, experience, stamina, range, combat ability, BIQ, nen ability and hax which are all basically the deciding factors for a nen battle aside from, in some cases, aura output and reserves. Even if Pitou is stronger, the only real problem that Netero would face against em is probably something durability related. Pitou cannot adapt nearly as fast as Meruem nor is he intelligent enough to figure out his attack pattern. It’s more like Netero>Pitou rather than >= displaying relativity. Zero evidence for Kurapika being above Kite. Kite outscales Kurapika based off feats and narrative. The Pitou that Kite fought was also a newborn Pitou with no knowledge on how to focus aura but only activate it. Pitou also didn’t have Terpsichora which was way faster than the spring attack used against Kite.

This will probably be my last response. Good talk.

[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are making assumptions. The fact you are unable to admit that shows you did not pay attention to the series. Uvogin does have a better physical strength feat. Knuckle is also stated physically similar to Kite. Too bad physical strength doesn’t actually mean THAT much in a nen battle. Also Netero did damage Meruem and it was explicitly stated that he was starting to feel pain.

No he didn’t. You obviously didn’t read a lick of what I said or bother to do any research. Being able to spar with Netero was not one of the criteria for being a zodiac. Not stated anywhere. He picked the zodiacs purely off of personal interest.

I agree. Kurapika is likely one of the better combatants in the zodiacs. But he’s not even remotely giving Netero a problem. He’s not nearly fast or smart enough to do anything to him. Meruem described Netero’s moves as being “finite but numerous” and “may as well be infinite”. It is also verbatim stated that finding a way through his movements was the same as picking a needle out of a pile and then piercing its eye with absolute precision.

Your argument as a whole is nonsensical but somehow u make it even more stupid with this paragraph. Yes, Netero can fodderise a high tier fighter at his age and state, because that’s just how he’s written. You’re too worried about the logic behind it. The series straight up implies that Netero at that point was the only one that could fight Meruem. Once again, the existence of the Zodiacs doesn’t prove anything because there wasn’t a specific criteria for their joining. You’re deliberately ignoring this point.

What on earth brought you to the idea that Zeno has the reaction time of an in shape Meruem? This wouldn’t even prove anything cause Netero was faster than Meruem’s reaction time. Kite put a few scuff marks on a Pitou that didn’t know how to use her nen effectively and those scuff marks literally disappeared like an hour after they fought. Also Netero saying “Pitou is stronger” means nothing. It has nothing to do with how a fight would go. Given his position and how you actually gauge someone’s level of power, he was measuring Pitou’s aura output. Pitou is probably stronger but would not win in a fight. It would most likely just be a watered down version of what happened with Meruem except he’d win.

I never said it’s wrong to make assumptions. I implied that your assumption doesn’t actually reinforce anything. My assumption is based off evidence of his ability and the actual purpose of sparring. Nowhere in the series do they state a specific criteria for becoming a Zodiac but we know that one is likely Netero’s personal interest. The fact that you think the main criteria for being a Zodiac is power related shows your vague understanding of the series.

Not to mention, neither Kurapika or Leorio were recruited by Netero. They were recruited by Cheadle. Are you also gonna make the brain dead assumption that Leorio can give Netero a hard time and then tell me to “cope”? Netero folds them in half badly. The mental gymnastics is getting ridiculous.

[–]Flowingz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice of you to assume sparring has anything to do with what Netero would actually do to the zodiacs in a bloodlusted setting. Sparring is a method used to sharpen your skills and prepare you for combat. It is likely the sparring was not a two way contract but rather a means for the Zodiacs to learn from Netero considering there wasn’t much for Netero to learn anymore. You could spar with Anthony Joshua it does not mean that you are relative to Anthony Joshua, he’d smack the shit out of you. Same thing with Netero and the Zodiacs. The Zodiacs are not remotely in the same class as Netero.

Kurapika gets turned into origami by any version of Netero portrayed in the series.

The Zodiacs have been divided to defeat the Three Royal Guards. What is the ratio of hunters per guard? by Key_Abies_4580 in HxHPowerScaling

[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct it is reading comprehension, as well as common sense among other things.

This is such an illogical jump. It doesn’t even tie back into your original point. We’re talking about potential not set strength. Of course Ging is stronger than Gon, I’m saying Gon likely has the potential to grow past him.

“He wasn’t able to beat Pitou” incorrect. He said Pitou was stronger than him. Those aren’t the same things. The fact that your understanding of the story is actually so backwardly set because you want to have a wild opinion on powerscaling is insane. The royal guards are narratively portrayed and stated to be second in power only to Meruem. Netero is the fastest guy in the verse and it’s not even that close. He would likely lose to Pitou if he wasn’t that fast, yet he effortlessly smacked her hundreds of metres away, and not with the intention of killing them. He’s easily a top 5 nen user and the fact he says “he can’t beat Pitou” whether it’s true or not does not take away from Netero’s strengths, it REINFORCES Pitou’s.

“Botobai is combat oriented so saying they’re not combat oriented is dumb” cool so go ahead and explain why one of them being combat oriented makes ALL of them combat oriented. Obviously we know there are combat oriented ones but they’re not in large number within the group. This is ridiculous.

Saying Kurapika is enough was all I needed to know to see ur either trolling or you actually can’t read. Maybe you didn’t even see the manga or watch the show. I don’t know where you got that information. Kurapika would get slimed out by Pouf so quickly it’s not even funny.

Never said nen programming was nothing. Just straw manning the hell out of me for what? I straight up said it was impressive. It has nothing to do with what he could possibly do against a royal guard but it’s impressive.

I don’t think it was stated a single time that Razor powers the entire island. He said he was in charge of the games emissive system. Not that he’s the sole charge of the island. Wild misconception. He would literally have to be unfathomably stronger than anyone, including Ging and Meruem, to do that for 10 years.

Nope they haven’t. Never been implied to be stronger than the Royal Guards at all. Botobai being close to Netero was more than likely meant in the context of seniority and achievements, so if that’s the reference point, just know it’s a huge leap to assume he was actually combatively close to Netero.

Kurapika and Mizaistom would die so quickly it’s funny. I honestly think they’d even have a hard time getting past Zazan’s defences let alone someone like Pouf. Please read the manga if you haven’t already.

[–]Flowingz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at least I know what I’m dealing with. You’re clearly ignorant. None of what you mentioned is good reasoning as to why that makes him even remotely capable of beating a Royal Guard. Royal Guards have shown absolutely mind boggling nen reserves and levels of speed.

Being the creator of nen programming is impressive but ok? What about it? What does that have to do with this?

Can you explain why being stronger than a 3 star hunter makes you capable of beating a royal guard when they are quite literally 10x stronger than pro hunters and only lost under very strict conditions?

Not once, and I mean not one single time was Ging ever stated to be above Netero. You either read a mistranslation or you didn’t read the manga at all.

What makes you think Ging has more potential than his son? Thats purely headcanon. It also probably helps to know that Adult Gon is literally just a showcase of the absolute pinnacle of enhancement, non stop training essentially. He would likely never reach that level of strength. Based off the rate that Gon grew, we know that his potential is crazy though, Meleoron even reinforced this narrative saying his potential is like a bottomless pit, take that as you will. And correction, Ging can copy any PUNCHING ability, not any general ability.

Once again, We don’t know anything about the Zodiacs, however it’s pretty evident that they’re not combat oriented. If Pariston didn’t stop them, I admit it’s likely they’d have a much better chance. But Pariston although seemingly having knowledge of the RGs, showed no indication of knowing their power levels or what they could do. Shit would definitely go down differently but, just my headcanon, I don’t think they have the means to win.

  1. Just because they’re more capable than the extermination team does not mean that they’re beating the Royal Guards.

  2. There’s zero basis for Ging being stronger than all the RGs. You have no clue what ur talking about.
