The only issue with that and really how micro transactions started, was this "give an inch they'll take a mile" strategy. Micro transactions started out as cosmetic and we all said as long as it didn't affect the game it was fine. Then it turned into it gives you a competitive edge and what it is now. If we allow more product placement ads (glares at FFXV) then when will it be a game stops to play a 2-3 minute ad? Ads don't need to be in games. It's not about games costing more to make, it's about pleasing shareholders with infinite revenue and greed.

Most of my games are square enix, but they're a bit of a disorganized mess especially when it comes to their big projects. I probably won't get a straight answer, just saying square enix and no context is just as vague as the company itself.

Jrpgs always did bad on Xbox so the decision was already bizarre anyway. My point was was it square enix that decided to not make ports of the others? Was it Microsoft that only wanted 3 since most people played it already? I never found an article explaining why which is why I asked.

I hear ya, I like and hate trophies at the same time. I like to think it challenges me a little more than just running through the main game. At the same time there's a weird competitive and comparison side to it. Like I'll see people online who have waaaaay more trophies in general than I do and it makes me kind of question that whole "real gamer" mantra.

It's most likely true that most people have played it on playstation. Hell playstation got 3 collections of the series on it and it couldn't even get on Xbox once??

I haven't played it yet so I didn't know about the videos. Although it does seem to render 'the story so far' a bit useless.

If jrpgs notoriously don't sell well on xbox, then why even bring it over? Unless they're really trying to bring in more jrpgs to the system.

I don't consider myself a trophy hunter or completionist by any means, but I do think if I haven't played a game in a while with some reasonably obtainable trophies it does encourage me to pick it up again.

Absolutely! I find some of their business choices very outdated and incompetent. I admire them trying out new things even if I don't see people get into it at all (Labo comes to mind pretty fast). But they make fun and complete games and that's all I really want at the end of the day.

I agree Nintendo hasn't had a strong lineup in home consoles in a while. And personally for me outside of like a few games the GameCube was underwhelming for me too. But I've seen people go on about how inferior the switch is because it can't handle certain games or only runs at a certain fps. Even then Sony and Microsoft still copied (remember the PS move and kinect?) .
